    I don't mind gore to an extent, but the animation looks ridiculous, spurting and spraying blood with every hit. It's even more annoying when you're in a tight spot like a mine shaft and it's spraying continuously, kind of blocking what little view you have. I wish it could be toned down and be more meaningful, like a spray on an enemy's crit.

    I really love the current blood, I played Path of Exile for thousands of hours and the only addon store purchase I made was the extra gore pack ;) So there is always the option to dial the current one back and make a really over the top one for the store. I for one would insta-buy that item!

    Or they can dial it back and you can use skills like Rend with a chainsword if you like blood ;)

    Honestly, blood should be more tied to bleeding than anything. Attack with a cudgel or maul = not much blood. Attack with a chainsword = a lot of blood.

    Come on guys... role-playing...

    There should be a toggle or slider for blood to cater to everyone
    no blood to blood bath.

    You want blood on ceilings, walls and floors? Then you need to have a % chance to fall down :)

    Agreed. Tying the blood to certain elements of either the weapon type or critical is the way to go. It makes sense and has meaning.

    I like the blood personally. Maybe dial it down just a notch. But love it. :)

    I agree with the OP that it felt a little over the top for awhile. After more play I got used to it. I will play with it as is. But a 'no blood' toggle in the controls may be a good idea for those family rated G times.

    Blood should be the thing that makes you think about what you are doing. Do you feel remorse, do you revel in it, do you bathe in it, do you abhor it. Blood and death should be felt and enjoyed, or not enjoyed by different people in different measures. I say leave it as it is, and make it a moral judgement on yourself. If you abhor blood, then kill fire, or water, or earth. Make your role play count. Make this a part of your avatar instead of a min max character for max value. Feel the game, be the game, but don't game the game.

    I think there's a point to be had there but you could still have the same point if the blood were toned down a bit. I mean.. huge blood spray on a hit that does less than 10 damage just seems a bit off don't you think? Rather would it not be better if the amount of blood were proportional to the damage caused and the weapon used?

    If blood should be meaningful.. then it shouldn't be blood for the sake of blood.

    Have you ever killed anything in real life? Butcher a pig once, and see the amount of blood that happens.

    then there should be a skill to collect it, and harvest the blood, and make blood sausage and head cheese. Sure you can say weapon damage could play a part, but once a vein has been hit and/or an artery, then it could spurt like crazy.

    Isn't that the definition of a critical hit? :)

    I wonder if anyone has given any thought to blood effects on armor based on health and bleeding effects? Or I wonder if the tech for that would be too much?
