I'm wondering whether folks thing that an in game notepad may be useful?
The quest log, recipe book, and other systems are purposefully kept minimal to make the game challenging and 'old school' which appeals to its audience, but that said, I find myself with bits of paper everywhere and I'm alt-tabing an awful lot.

There was such a hidden feature in Star Wars Galaxies that few seemed to know of, but I found it incredibly useful for keeping track if what materials I had and what I needed. In that same situation I see it useful for SoTA. It was “/note” and it saved info per-character.

There actually is a note feature attached to the friends list but it has a 128 character limit. I would love to have something more substantial though. Like a book you could edit.. or append to.

Yes. The game stores GIGABYTES of info on each player in the world and only 128 characters for friend notes. 640 characters aught to be enough for anybody.

Yup! 640k is all the memory we'll ever need! ;)

Have a Notebook that you can craft, and have in your inventory to do exactly this. That's what I would do :) Great Idea.

Yes please! I was hoping early on the quest log would be a mix of few details the game would auto-add, and a working notepad. With all the sorting features and such suggested over time. I would much rather jot a note in game, especially with cloud saving, than have a notepad next to me or alt-tab out of game.
