Tooling for such a thing runs several thousand dollars.

To be worth doing, thousands would have to be made, and we'd probably only sell a dozen.

To model and 3D print a few would cost hundreds of dollars each.

    But it would be cool!

Still have mine as well, though mine came with the actual game and wasn't in the plastic package. I think it came with The Second Age?

It was actually the version that introduced Lord Blackthorn. Not sure what that one was. It wasnt Second Age. Thats when i started playing UO. Sorry i started with Renaisaance. Lord Blackthorn's Revenge was the one that came with the action figure

I hope to do figurines some day. We have looked at 3d printing services and also sculpting. Maybe miniatures - I've seen some great campaigns on Kickstarter and have htought of teaming up with one of those producers.

I have access to some really excellent sculpture manufacturers, but Frank is right about tooling costs - it takes a very large order to make it worthwhile. It is possible that commercial success of the game would allow us to work with other sources like large toy companies, but as an independent manufacturer it's a high hurdle.

Perhaps in the future I could arrange a pre-order campaign (either using Kickstarter or otherwise).

The other obstacle is Dev time. Those guys are working flat-out breakneck speed to deliver the game, and they don't have time to hunt down objects, textures, and answer all my inane questions. This is why I was looking at a solution that would export your character or another model directly out of the game to the printer (they work specifically with Unity). However, this still requires Dev time to implement an API.

In short, this is something I might revisit later this year. For now I have plenty of work expanding product selection and getting the site up to code & polished for game launch.

I'm glad to see this discussion tho and I fully agree .. that would be sweeet! :)

Well, I just realized I started the thread in Dev+, so apologies to those who don't have access:

    Shock Monkey Diorama

I'll have an update (probably) tomorrow. This weekend will be the real marathon to get it done.
