I have been decorating my basement. Got some crazy plans for it. Its a pvp enabled basement. I want it to be spooky and creepy looking. Now i havent adventured much. Mostly just fished... but is there some remains you can grab from skeletons and zombies or brigands? Can you get stuff to hang animal carcasses? What would you do to create a horror themed basement? Id go whack some skeletons and brigands right now if i were stronger/more brave. But all i got is fishing level 43. :( all i been wanting to do so far is fish away. Call me boring but im an odd duck. Those skeletons are pretty scary. One of them blasted me with fireballs at eastreach and killed me with ease. Ran past the skele to skip to hidden vale where i placed house.
Ive also been using the in game books to create stories about my creepy little basement. Will publish more at some point. Even though its pvp enabled its been pretty safe down there. No one following me in there. Id be an easy target at this point.

if you haven't done the blood river outskirts quest, i'd suggest it: you get a couple of small deco objects that make an eerie green glow.

Sadly, there's not much. Most of the "spooky" items have been more Goosebumps than Texas Chainsaw.

Skulls, and some other bones, I think. The cemetery caretaker in Aerie has some skeleton deco items for COTOs. There are some meat deco items you can find too, but I don't recall where I found the ones I got. That's about all I know of.

Nope. Not yet, any way. It's very frustrating to see all kinds of cool stuff lying around that you can't take. Especially coming from Skyrim/Fallout, where you get used to just grabbing cool deco items as you find them. The cannibalism Easter egg I built above one of my stores gets the point across, but it's pretty "clean."

Hehe I just did a small write up over here:
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/2015-spooky-decoration-bundle.112195/

But if you are looking for stuff to find/craft in game then I'd do the quests in Highvale outskirts.

Then digit in Ardoris sells odd skulls for like 2g each
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/map//?map_id=180&poi_id=1398&openPopup=true&z=4

If you kill other players then the trophies can also be crafted into stuff like:
    http://sotawiki.net/sota/Skull_Goblet

We also have these nice things
    http://sotawiki.net/sota/Pillory
    http://sotawiki.net/sota/Prison_Cage
    http://sotawiki.net/sota/Prison_Shackle

Then there is tons of stuff on the Crown Merchants in game.

There are spider webs and spiders, but they are very difficult to place on basement walls in a way that felt worth it. You can't even place a spider on top of a spider web, at least when I tried. You also can't place them on the floor or ceiling for an unknown reason.

I agree about the butcher table post above. Perhaps a pile of odd skulls and a meat cleaver/scissors next to it. Some odd red color spice jars and worm jars on a shelf nearby - could be interesting. I also saw some hospital type items on the 'make a difference' add on store. (Hospital bed, surgical tools, IV stand.) I could really make a creepy scene with the right lighting.

Ooh, I forgot about the dead hedges. That was the telethon right before I began playing. I need to track down some of those.

I can do creepy...*giggles innocently* Here are some things i made a few years ago. Keep in mind that at that time we didn't have as much deco as we have now. So it looks really strange in some cases.

This one is called: "Dinner anyone?"

And since it's almost that time of the year again..welcome...to the cult of the death bunny!

One last thing. Making something creepy isn't hard if you have a decent enough imagination. Even with a few items you can give a basement good evil vibe. Just place and test things and i'm sure you'll make something you'll love. Good luck!

Disclaimer: No actual avatars or bunnies where hurt during construction of these basements. So go lawyer someone else bruh!

Can you place wells/wishing wells in the basements yet and have them be functional?
