Are you guys going to continue to drink during Postmortems?

One of the reasons I stopped watching the streams was while discussing the game people were obviously getting drunk and (no offense) making asses of themselves for donations.

When I hear add it to Jira on ideas I question if it's genuine or something that sounds good while drunk.

I also worry about the impression of new players or potential players coming into a stream and seeing the main devs drinking/drunk and how much is valid info vs drunken talk.

It sucks bringing this up, but I wanna see the launch have success and some behaviors can be a problem when talking to the core devs if they are drunk.

 

I don't think they drink anymore in postmortems... they just sing or dance or do any kind of talent they have... or not have...

Edit: there was even a great solo performance in the last postmortem...

 

I think I've said before I don't spend the time in telethons and haven't played in like a year, but have been waiting on release. From what I've seen/heard people are still taking shots etc. I just worry about the professionalism vs perception on what they do on a work day.

 

I always enjoyed the festive atmosphere of the telethons including the drinking! As someone who has watched nearly every single quarterly/monthly telethons and even participated in one back in Oct 2017, I can say that for the most part, no one gets drunk...lol.

I think the very first telethon some people may have gotten toasted because they were on for 12 hours and taking shots for every $250.00. We wouldn't have *corpions* in the game if not for that, so there is an upside...

In any case, ALL the Devs are VERY professional. Booze during a telethon (or going forward *postmortem*) has never done anything but entertain for those few hours and doesn't make them any less professional. Neither does the singing, the dancing or the bad jokes. It's a party and we all get to be a part of it.

To which I say, "Party on Portalarium!"

 

I'm just worried about perception for new players when say promised features and goals get pushed back, but then they see a stream with devs drinking/getting drunk on what should be a work day.

 

Anyone know when was the last time they got drunk during live streaming?

 

The devs would have to answer that.

 

On-air shots pretty much ended around just before Thanksgiving last year.

Whomever is spreading disinformation about this as a continuing trend can verify when it ended by watching the Youtube archives.

 

They quit drinking months ago.

 

I'm not trying to spread disinfo just curious as I haven't followed the telethons in like a year, and back when they were getting hammered.

 

The comment was not targeted at you at all. You mentioned other sources for your information, and I am just providing a place where other people can verify the historical record if they wish.

 

Gotcha, but I also partake on the subreddits that are less moderated than here and seeing the reaction on them or the latest articles on gaming sites aren't the most positive.

 

Personally I miss the drinking but then I figure I make up for it on my end so no biggie!

 

Personally, I don't drink myself, yet I enjoyed the telethons more when they did drink, it was more fun. I don't judge a business by if the people drink or not, I judge it by can they do their job. I have seen concrete crews that dont drink and suck, and I have seen ones that do and do amazing work. Can you do the job or not SHOULD be the only thing that matters, but many people cannot control their emotions so need to control the behavior of others.

 

I'm of the same mind, but I'm worried the representation of the company and what features are seriously added could be an issue if they are drunk while doing things.

 

No offense meant here, but maybe you should research your own question before you make a thread on something. This has not happened for a while now. Had you looked at a past live stream for even 5 to 10 minutes you would of answered your own question.

thats good news. Maybe I will start watching again then. Last time I watched I got so pissed off because I waited for a certain topic, and when they got to it they could not even focus on it. Very disappointing. I am sure it was fun for the drunks though.

 

Maybe I'm out of my realm since last time I watched they were getting drunk and it turned me off watching the new ones.

No, we stopped this many months ago. Gave us much more time to answer questions when we stopped it .
