Hi folks! So, I wonder how many people are like me: backed the project at Kickstarter to help get it off the ground, dabbled with pre-alpha releases for a year or two, and then stopped, thinking I would not spoil the experience and wait instead for official release before playing the game properly ?????? And now, after all this time, we are just over 2 weeks away! Much water has since passed under the bridge: Mordremoth has been tied-up into several reef-knots, Balthazar has been blown to little pieces and Molag Bal sent packing in total humiliation with his tail between his legs... And Portalarium MAY have got the sound of a giant spider right ?? (They growled like lions the last time I played). So, now our return to SOTA is required for a re-assessment! I would not be surprised if Her Majesty has even got her new high-spec laptop at the ready! We returning players may be massively out of step, grossly inexperienced in comparison with the dedicated stalwarts that have continued to guide the project over the intervening years (and seen and done everything already) BUT I do not return empty handed! I would not want to launch into Novia without a few handy materials on hand to help and provide some guidance. And what I have produced for my own benefit I offer to the community as well to use (or not) as they see fit! Obviously, to keep those awfully nice chaps at Portalarium happy, I will be sure to place these goodies in the correct “Player Created Resources” directory. Brownie points there. Having said that, try as I might, it is not possible to hold back this “low-resolution preview”: Experienced hunters on imgur will be able to find more wonders!
Glad you're returning. The game is really coming along nicely these days, if you ask me. I don't think it is perfect, but there are many good things happening all of the time, and the game has huuuge potential (especially when they open up the high seas to the Avatars)!
Welcome back @Greyhaven. It has been a very long road. As to the spiders still growling hmmm I sure hope they have stopped that for your sake. The wolves no longer growl, I do know that. I know our sound person is working furiously to implement better sounds where needed for us. As always SOTA is a work in progress and that progress does not stop at all with launch. If I can ever help you to catch up I would be happy to help. Happy journeys to you.
Welcome back to New Britannia! You could not be coming back at a better time. All Avatars are required during this dire time of need. Something is happening in our land, we're not sure what but the skies indicate it might be big...
Welcome back, @Greyhaven. I knew you not (having done the opposite; backed the Kickstarter, tuned out for three years, and rejoined at R32 during Persistence) but your Illustrated Guide sure grabbed my attention! Please let me know if I can ever help your travels in Novia as you readjust. (In Novia I am known as: Benjamin Hroth)
