Just wondering if mannequins to display clothing and armor were ever placed in game, and if so, where do I find them (or the recipe for them)?

Nope. I have asked for this item 3 years ago. Nothing yet in game.

I think they don´t have the tech to do this yet - if they had, vendor cutomisation wouldn´t work with patterns if the tech was there ....

This has been promised since nearly day one... I respectfully disagree with His Grace, Duke Gréagóir, in that my recollection is that this has been requested and promised for more than 3 years. However, I've no doubt we will get them some day.

I never said the devs promised. I said I asked for this 3 years ago.

Apologies for the confusion, Your Grace. You came late to the game. ;)
It was requested back as early as the Kickstarter, and has been promised as something that will eventually be added to the game at each of the Many Postmortems where the question has been posed and answered... The answer has consistently been some variation of "Yes, eventually."

I think we're getting closer - most armor/weapons/etc. can now be placed as deco, I imagine we'd just need the right 'hooks' to get them onto a non flat (mannequin) surface at this point. I'm sure that involves a lot of coding work which is why we can't have it yet. I'm also not sure how this would 'work' - would you get a paperdoll for the mannequin to 'dress' it ? Or just drag and drop things onto the appropriate part of the mannequin? It seems to me that the former would be easier as it could mimic how characters dress ourselves. Either way, we need a) mannequins and b) some sort of cat helmet, so I can build my kitteh army.

Time flys, Your Grace... The Kickstarter successfully funded on April 7th. 2013... I don't recall exactly how long the Kickstarter was, or when it started, but we're days one side or the other of beginning our 6th year.

Wow. Thanks for all the responses. I guess I'll have to get creative, not my strong suit. How are you guys working around this with your displays? It would be intersting to see what different people have come up with.

Majoria70 - Great link. I really like the way they set their stuff up as well. Looks like a wonderful place to visit.

Scoffer - Your shovel and pick-axe army... creative genius. Love it.

    EDIT:
Reminds me a bit of the brooms from disneys Fantasia

Thanks Ravenclaw and welcome back if you are just getting back into things. I have seen some marvelous displays using our wall shelving. It is craftable and it can be lined up along walls to start your displays. I know what you mean about being creative. I have displays at my house but nothing like at the museum I mentioned and many other players homes I have seen them do amazing displays and deco.

There's a book in there next to the "leader" of the army that details Scoffer's efforts to date to discover the secret to animating his army.
So far we haven't been able to do this without 'external help' ...but someday soon, he will figure it out. And then they can continue digging the tunnel to Elysium.

As much as they've promised anything... The answer to the question every time it's been asked has been some variation on "Yes, Eventually."
Are we really going to descend into that level of pedantism?
