Starting Over?

Hi all,

I've been gone for, like, 2 years. When I last played there was only one starting path that was actually complete. Now that the game has released I would like to actually start fresh from the beginning and see what patch I would actually take. However I have a lot of Founder items and add-ons that I've already claimed in game. Since there is only one character slot, if I delete that character what happens to my stuff? And what about things like extra house designs that I traded for that weren't part of my pledge? And the final question, what about my character name? I still want the same name. If I delete the character does the name become available right away?

 

Good news - You can have multiple characters now!

Also, there is an option when you select your current avatar, to wipe all your quest history, and effectively "start over"

All skills can be unlearned and trained down to 0

And finally, your rewards are tied to your account, not your character. Though I dont know about stuff in your backpack should you delete the character (Id hope they were sent to the bank).

Anything in your bank or on your lot are safe, anything on your character is gone so place equipment etc into the bank or onto your lot. Also spend your gold or have a friend hold it for you till you've created your new character.

 

You need to put whatever is in your backpack/on your person into your bank before you delete the character.

So, essentially, if all your gear is in your house, in a chest - you’re not going to lose it when you wipe your toon, correct

 

Best to put it in your bank to be safe

 

You may also consider resetting the quest status without deleting the character. You'd do this from the small cog button on the character selection menu.

 

I had reset the quests with the cog menu.

How do I restart the virtue quests without starting on the floating Isle?

 

After the reset, your quest log should have something about talking to Arabella... and then you proceed from there. She can be found in Soltown (near bank) and the other starter cities I believe.

 

That is correct. It's what I did yesterday. Since a lot of old and new Avatars are doing the same, I ran into old and new friends in Soltown and had a mini-dance party. Welcome back!
