I haven't tried Royal Purple but I was able to dye my shield normally.

I just had it in my Paper Doll and dragged and dropped the dye onto it like normal.

I'm sorry if this has been answered somewhere, I can't seem to find it.
I am not eligible myself, I missed the 'founder' cutoff apparently with my pledge, but was hoping to get an understanding of how this works. Are they just patterns or, is it something you get a recipe to craft and apply ? The reason I ask is that many folks wanted to have 'guild' heraldry and be coordinated, but from what I've gathered so far it seems that these are just for personal use, with a set number of patterns? Is there a way to craft them / get more so you could deck out your guild, family, or group with heraldry?

From what devs have said I gather the intention is to be able to reproduce them.. but that functionality apparently isn't in yet. Right now you get 1 set of gear you can salvage for eternal patterns plus 5 sets of normal patterns. I fully expect that to change in the future.

    Yes, just patterns, for now.
Yes, we have a finite number of patterns.
Yes, kind of... You can make items with your patterns and give them to other people if you wish.
There is no current way to craft more patterns.

This is the First Iteration of a new feature, implemented specifically to fulfill a pledge reward. It will evolve and become more capable over time.

Ah, thanks! The tool tip on the shield lacks the primary & secondary dye descriptor until it's equipped so I didn't even try.

@Rufus D'Asperdi Great thinking on your arms, I like the way they came out.
@Duke Gréagóir Sorry you had a rough time with the CoA. Hopefully all will work out for everyone and we all get the arms displayed as we want them to appear.
@Sir Frank You always beat me to the forums :( Thanks for the heads up. Have you tried your arms yet? Ours are similar in design, will you just use the element and forgo the background?

I have got to get moving on submitting my form...
As for seeing it in game, maybe in a week or 2 when I get some time!

    Thanks!
I haven't tried uploading or designing anything new.
I'm afraid to upload a white charge on transparent background.
I'll wait until bugs are worked out.

Put heraldry into the game and all the heralds come out of the woodwork. :)

First iteration is personal patterns only.
Where Craftable gear and some sort of 'stamp' are planned further down the line.

The problem is that the Shield and the Heraldic Items have the blue base color... so you have to take that into account when you dye them. Basic color theory applies.
All of them should Really be a light grey... like #CCCCCC or #E5E5E5... so the colors you apply with Dye don't get overwhelmed by the base color.
The Banners, once they're dyeable, should take dye nicely.

@DarkStarr, might it be possible to make that change? This should really be a consideration for anything that's dyeable.

In order to get my blazon to show, i've had to spend a pattern. None of the awarded heraldry items like the banners nor the armor or shield have my blazon. Do I have to have a pattern to apply to those items, or should they have updated already?

My impression, from a comment by @DarkStarr in another thread is that the items we were granted ARE supposed to have our devices displayed on them, but there is currently a bug with them they're trying to get solved... Along with the Cloth Simulation, and the problems with Invisible Heraldic items.

I ended up salvaging some of mine to get the patterns.

Mine are still invisible. After changing mine they do not change themselves. I thought maybe salvage..I had no more shield patterns left so I salvaged one. Don't do it. Not eternal.
