I received this lovely notification after deleting and reinstalling the client after I became stuck in a verification loop.

    Any ideas?

PS: when I attempt to launch the client, I get this:

if the game is uninstalled then delete the folder and reinstall the game in steam.
if folder won't delete see if you can rename the folder so it would then be ignored.

    Self-resolved

I poked around in Avast and noticed that both SotA and Steam had been removed from Avast's "Game Mode" whitelist.

After adding Steam and SotA back, the game was able to finish updating and the "content lock" was removed.

Thanks @liz_the_wiz for reminding me to think.

    :)

Anti virus programs are a blessing and a curse. Sometimes the strangest stuff is av related. But when you said locked as long as it’s not running there was little else that would be looking at it.

Glad to hear you’re back up and running
