    Ok, it's time now to post the results and announce the winners!

    1000 Elven bows salvaged with salvaging skill at 120 + Obsidian reclamation potion.

    20 Imbued Elven Bow String of Speed
    12 Maple Long Bowstave
    16 Pine Long Bowstave
    34 Pattern: Elven Woodwind Long Bow
    14660 Wood Scraps


    Observations:
    - The results are terrible compared to some old tests. Did they nerfed the skill? who knows
    - Seems like the potion gives a better bonus compared to last 20 points of the skill (from GM to 120).
    - No worth the xp needed from GM to 120.

    Thanks for this generous contest and interesting test. Maybe I should do more crafting...

    did you salvage 1000 random bows or did you salvage 1000 bows that showed that they contain strings ?

    My experience is that this no longer matters, I melted 200 bows that were red and yellow with top end numbers from 0 to about 35 and still received about 1 imbued string per 16 bows. I have a 113 scrapping skill , Obs potion of reclamation and expert tables. (I also had the carpentry devotional buff, but that shouldn't have any effect.) I did this on 4/3/18

    Ok, so i should not bother with salvage skill because ....

    I MC and enchant bows, naturally lots of them break in the process.

    Now that with the ultra rare elven bowstrings.... not an option....

    Given that self made from cotton or leather compared do not have lousy stats either....

    I think the Devs overdid it a little with the rarity here... one bow in 15 or so one string ok.. but that is kinda bleh....

    Interesting that you got more imbued strings of speed than imbued strings of precision. I get mostly the precision ones and thought that the speed strings were more rare.

    Exactly , very rare, AND you need two strings per bow. This is actually OK with me, because it is a VERY powerful upgrade to the weapon and it makes the weapons that I do complete VERY valuable. My Alt KID TWIST sells a +12- +14 bow with imbued elven strings from 250K-400K per bow. These bows are not meant for everyone. If they made the strings easier to get, it would completely upend a very fragile ecosystem in the world of a master craftsman
