Why? Its beyond negligible. I'm looking at the maple handles I used for halberds. Knocking off .1 damage on an attack seems like a complete waste of a state on anything. It doesn't even contribute to say a + 20 resist from masterworking or anything. Any number for damage resist under say, 5 seems like a waste.

Hopefully these low numbers get adressed when crafting specialisation is implemented ..right now game seem to be alot about buffs ...combat buffs 6 + ( you need a separate deck just for buffs), food buffs 2 , shrine buffs 2 at least for POT + the blessings buff found on the overworld 3+, potion buffs about 9 + ..obsidian pot buffs and combat potion buffs ....not much stats left for crafted gear .... and all the buffs i mentioned you can have them all at once ...

It's not so much the values that bother me, rather that the components that carry those values are required to make the item and thus is a pure waste of resources.
This is why I never do 'Augmented' the third stat component is pointless.

I'd be a little bothered. Taking an attack that hits you for 100 damage and reducing it to 99.9 after crafting an advanced material bothers me a bit. Especially when I can masterwork something and add 20+ resist.

your MW does not add 20+ resist, its adds 20% of what the base of the item is, really you are looking at hardly nothing at all, I never take damage res masterworks as they are not worth it at all, nor do I fight with physical in meteoric gear, and the damage res means nothing once you use beserker stance anyways. Just look at the stats on your gear, it does show the base damage res and the bonus you got from that mw. I prefer constatine, more damage and focus.

You are correct on the 20% and not +20 but saying resist is not helpful only implies you don't play a tank or any other character that makes use of it. I cant begin to imagine why you would think I use berserker stance either. This is a very diverse character game. 0.1 resist in fact blocks 0.1 damage from an attack. 20% resist on my helm is 40X more useful than 0.1. My suit overall reduces incoming attacks by 50 damage. This isn't about what you prefer its about whats useful in game and what justifies the consumption of an advanced material. reducing an attack by 0.1 I think most would agree its not a good justification.

The .1 damage res on rock maple and hard maple is just a tiny bonus to what that component really does, hard maple 4% weapon damage and rock maple 7.5% weapon crit damage, while just maple is only 2.5% and has no .1 damage res.

I play EVERYTHING, I can tank, I can dps, I can heal, I can CC. While I dont know everything about this game, I would consider myself one of the top knowledgeable people about it. Once you start to fight hard stuff, you will realize just how useless damage res really is.
