Sounds cool, I hope by piano they meant harpsichord!

 

I remember this being a cool feature in Ultima 5 and 7 I think

 

Personally, I'm looking much more forward to 1.2 (weather).

 

It really DOES need to be harpsichord! I'll be disappointed otherwise. They probably said piano figuring most people don't know what a harpsichord is! Shoot I wouldn't have a clue myself if it hadn't been for Ultima. heh

 

If SotA does indeed have elements of steam and early electricity, I vote for a caliope.

 

I wonder how many notes and octaves we can play for each insturment. Getting several players together to write music would be soooo great.

A little disappointed at this stretch goal because much of the music i assumed would be in game. I do like that it promotes more bard characters and maybe more fun taverns

As someone who can't play scales, I think instruments will be cool..... If there are enough people around to hear people play I would love to see people in inn's, people on street corners playing music for tips. That would add a LOT to a game IMO.

 

I was looking forward to the immersive weather effects goal but then I saw they revealed this one and now I'm looking forward to this one more. I always wished they'd add custom melodies and a music book to UO. I hope there will be a way to record them in this too.

 

Interactive musical instruments is one of the best features of Lord of the Rings Online. Not only can you play several instruments note by note, but you can also download music in ABC notation and play entire songs. You can also sync your song with other players, allowing for multiple instruments to be played at the same time. It's pretty amazing

 

I agree, we need this badly.
I would even love the LotrO system more than the weather system !
It adds something so special, so living, to the game. People agile with their keyboards could go on the streets and make a living out of playing original songs (although if we get a script as in LotrO, it'll be a fake performance lol)

 

Pretty pumped about this one -- hope it makes the cut!
