1700 HP golems are guarding 2nd Elysium silver room

Yea, I had logged out there last night, so when I logged in there this morning to look for the golems... I didn't have any devotional blessings. I think if I had those plus the 2 foods, it might be a bit easier for me.

 

I just mined in the bottom room for a half hour and all of the respawns were just normal earth eles.

After you kill the initial ancient obsidians I'm not sure they every respawn.

 

I saw them respawn in 502.

 

Ancient Obsidian Golems are fun.

 

I agree, though I expect Elysium is still up for uncloning in the next few releases. One thing I think this change will achieve is an increase in demand for crafted Obsidian weapons, I used my Obsidian Sword to great effect on the golem.

I used to be careful to only aggro one or two elementals at a time, kill them and then mine and move around the room. As I levelled up I moved on to trying to aggro all the elementals then finish them off all at once with AoE. From my initial experiments this change just means a move back to my earlier strategy, I'm fine with that.

Been an issue since at least last release.

 

I've actually enjoyed having the Ancient Golems in Elysium...nice little challenge. I wouldn't want to fight more than 2 of them at once, but in the hour I was running through, only had 2 spawn at the same time, which was manageable.

 

Same here, I also enjoy the ancient golems. I actually think it s a good solution. Still able to mine silver, but more challenging and fun. Will probably hamper people who use multiple accounts at the same time to mine.

 

Since I am not capable of killing Obsidian Golems, this makes Elysium 3 off limits to me.

 

What fighting skills do you have ?
These things are really not as nasty as some make it sound.

 

Wizard skills - 60s to 80s for most trees.

I almost killed one yesterday, but the elemental that spawned next to him made that impossible.

 

Are the nameplates if the Ancient Obsidian Golems red, orange or yellow?

 

Reddish/Orange

 

The only good faun is a dead faun. I made that decision long ago; if the Oracle doesn't like it she/it can just Suck It!

 

Depends on your adventure level. I was at level 82 - orange for me.

 

Creatures are much harder to hit if they're orange and nearly impossible if they're red. You need to level up a bit.

 

Hmm... My avatar is adventurer level 79 and I thought they were yellow. The earth elementals are definitely green. I'll have to take another look.

 

I am AL 88, had the 4 level devotional buff and the ones I saw (third level) were yellow to me. Is it possible that there are separate spawns which differ in level?

As I referred to in my earlier comment, if you have any skills relevant to obsidian weapons then those are now worth buying for mining.

 

dont forget, you can always take an obsidian wep in there at +200% damage.

Does anyone know if these things drop artifacts? If they did, I would actually come out of my year long mining retirement and farm the crud out of it.

 

When I don't have the devotional buff and am therefore at my base 88 level they are orange to me, so they must be lvl 99-101.

Just seen gold coins and obsidian chips so far.
