I see more people selling Wands than Staffs.
I once read that there is no big different about boni and such, so 1 staff is powerfull than 2 Wands, right?

I used wands, but when the elven pattern came out, i wanted a Staff.
( would like a blue gem instead of a Green, that fits Watermagic more)

Am i wrong or why are people more often sell wands instead of Staffs?

My Staff has more +Attune than all wands cumulated i saw until, same for Ice Arrow damage, but not sure what is possible and if my short comparison was right.
    Didnt make a great research.

    What color would you prefer?
    White maybe?

Edit: oh misread :D, then "cool"

Edit2: i'll stick to the Staff anyway, because of immersion and it's just cooler than to cast with chopsticks :p

2 wands are stronger because you can have more enchants and stats. 50 attunement possible vs 30, ect

Unfortunately, as others have already stated, two wands can stack higher than a staff.

They need to balance this out. I'm not sure how yet since eventually the plan is to allow focus items (all sorts of things like books, voodoo dolls, dead frogs, etc...) to take the place of wands and staves. One solution might be to allow a staff to be held in one-hand. Another solution might be to add additional negative modifiers to wands (like more fizzle, more reagent use). Really though, since the most advantageous part of having two wands is the extra chances to enchant, just making staves receive a much higher percentage of buffs per enchantment would be a great first step.

I always used two wands because I could easily swap the second one for mug of beer or torch...

Anyway staff should be imho 1.5 handed weapon, so you get bonus idf you have the other hand free, but why not combine staff and sword like the greatest wizard of all times?

Though he sometimes did use staff with both hands

One thing I don't like is that you can hold special items such as the Tear of Titans and a wand while, at the same time, these items are useless to those who prefer to use a staff. In addition to that, wands are way more powerful than staves. I could see being able to use the offhand items if the wands weren't already so powerful. Another problem is that staves are limited to using 1 Gem Type, whereas wands have the ability to use two. I think there needs to be a balancing of these two weapons. Those who are looking for the most powerful/effective items are forced to go with wands, even if they don't care for the look of them. I've gotten up to around 34% Attunement on a staff and wands have the potential to get up to 50%, which is quite a big difference between the two. Then there are the other attributes! Going to stick with my staff as an aesthetic choice, but I would prefer additional power. The items don't have to have the same potential in every attribute. Maybe each weapon could give a higher potential in one attribute, while giving a lower potential in another. In this way, there are pros AND cons to choosing one over the other. As of right now, the only pro to using a staff over a wand is an aesthetic one.

Wands are OP right now, but I could be wrong, I dont know what stats can be put on a Staff.

My 2 wnads give me a total of +50 earth attun as well as +50% Stone arrow. I dont think you can do such things with anything else, especially a 2H.

Also, nobody mentioned that using 2 wands seems to activate all the passive offhand skills. Maybe I'm wrong but the offhand defense skill can be useful even for a mage and the staff probably don't allow it to be active.

Two handed weapons skills are missing in the Tactics tree.

Ok thanks, i once read that it was balanced and wands do only half of what is possible on Staffs.

    This is so annoying @Chris
    Really.
They really need to balance things out.

All this dull and immersionbreaking "exploits" and Jack of all Trades stuff is annoying as hell.

I'll sure stick to my Staff. I once used 2 Wands but always feel so bad with it, because it's no more an RPG then it's just cherry picking everywhere.

i have the vague recollection that a staff uses focus for autoattack.

If I could hit things with my staff as a bludgeon and do at least some decent damage with auto-attack then I'd be okay with the tradeoff of not being quite as magically powerful as dual wands.

Big ole clunky bludgeon like staffs are an impediment to magic, but some wizards like to wave them around.

I want to stay authentic instead of effective!
Then we can take staffs out of the game, why have them?
Why have Polearm, we have blades, why have Moonmagic, why have watermagic and life, fire and death are good enough ...
Your statement is not very helpful. But I accept that you are more the Harry Potter than the Gandalf Mage :p

if the double the enchantments is on two handed weopons then they would be imbalanced as they would hit harder than the single weopon and still carry the enchantments of dual weilding. They could put it at about a 1.5 increase to the enchanments and masterwork and I think that would balance them out.
