NOTE THE GRAPHIC SAYS THE FIRST FLIGHT IS 1-3 and it SHOULD SAY 12-2 NBT - I will try to get this changed.

This event is to raise awareness and benefiting Aerie Fund/Trevor Project - Just 1 Life Community Cause

Prism and Diamond Fields invite you to come challenge our finally persistent putt putt golf course On June 30th during one of 3 "flights" to be hosted. This will be wrapping up our month long Trevor Project Charity Drive in conjunction with the Aerie Fund.

    Flight Times Are:
12pmNBT to 2pm NBT for our European Players,
5pm-7pm NBT for some US and other times zone
8pm-10pm for our Australian friends and west coasters.

(You may only participate in one of these groups not multiple for prizes)

Participants will receive kilts, canes (aka their clubs) , and a top once one can be identified to match the kilt and we will have gustballs for you as well. (Picture to be added later for this)

    Prizes
Cotos for the lowest scores across all the holes for will be given out. 1st 20 Cotos, 2nd 10 Cotos, 3rd 5 Cotos for each of the 3 flights.

    Need Volunteers
I am looking for 2-3 scorekeepers for each flight that can radio in via discord by hole each contestants score so they can be populated on a score sheet I will maintain for each of the flights. For your service for any flights you do scores for, you will be paid 5 cotos per flight for your aid.

    How it works
The plan is to send groups out with a score keeper to navigate the course, so each starting point will be different per flight of players but the end score remains the same. Using this spread out play keeps it exciting till the end .. you don't know you are behind, and if so a hole in one can change the scoring dramatically. In addition it allows multiple players to run the course simultaneously for more rapid completion of the event.

    Location and Rules
The course is located at the keep north eastish from the docks zone in, past the crafting pavilion and row houses. You really cannot miss the building and the course heading that way.

    General Course Rules:
    • If the gust ball goes through one of the walls/house you will be allowed a free mulligan but must take a step back before re-summoning the gust ball.
    • Sometimes climbing atop a fence if the ball is very near it can help you clear it out of there.
    • You should stand on or behind the paver at the start of a hole and then summon your gust ball. If you are over the line, you will be charged a one stroke penalty and have to back up and re-summon your gust ball.
    • No 'kicking' the gustball over the short walls, the short walls are for spectators and scorekeepers to keep track of the players. Sometimes the ball will angle over the corner .. that is okay.
    • If your ball gets stuck, and is not advancing those strokes will not be counted against you, but you should step to the side or backwards and then cast gust again when a scorekeeper verifies and tells you to do so, not before or you will incur a one stroke penalty.
    • Fizzles do not count as strokes.
    • After completing a hole please move away from the scoring rug/area and resummon your gust ball on the next hole temporarily. Remaining gustballs will affect the next player, so we want them removed for the next person in line. Conversely when we move to the next hole, everyone will need to resummon back a the completed hole to clear the path for the upcoming hole.

    General gustball usage.

Gustballs will be handed out to all players, drag the item from your inventory to a hot bar. Since it can be placed as deco, you may need to step out of the boundries of the player lot to get it to slot on your non combat bar. Use this key to summon your gustball at each hole, then hit z to go into combat and use your Gust spell. You do not need to be actively training this skill to participate on the course, so if you don't want to eat up all your xp while playing golf, don't forget to turn youf xp off.

Unfortunately standing close or far away from the gustball does not increase or decrease the distinance it travels, how you stand will affect the angle it travels however.

If you forgot to train gust you should be able to run to the trainer in Etceter provided its not dark out. Not sure if trainer is 24 hours. Head NW from the entrance to the town and go toward the docks, next to the sign for the banker you will see a sign with a triangle on it, the trainer inside there will train you in gust.

    Scoring
Here is how the scoring for each of the holes will be. In addition to the total number of strokes to arrive a the hole, players will have the ability to boost their score based on the graphic below. (I am showing old rug scoring in case they fix the physics they broke recently, if it is not reverted where gust balls can travel over rugs, then a new scoring with the same results will be implemented, in a "V" fashion where if it gets to the smallest location in the V it is a hole in one, further out in the V is -3 and just touching is normal stroke count. I will post this clearly on the forums and in the handout books for the event.

Here are some videos from March of last year from one of the tourneys that some folks shot.

Look for updates to this over the course of the next few weeks

Please Note the first flight will be from 12-2pm NBT to allow time for the R43 Dance Party, the time scheduling was a boo boo. But the release party will be in Diamond Fields as well at 2pmNBT. So come play early, do the dance party or do the dance party and challenge the course after @Berek 's weekly broadcast.

I will have to redo the screenshot at the top of this post to note that time change on the first flight.

Folks don't forget to go learn your /golfclap emote for this event. From SotaWiki.net ....

When your appreciation needs to be more circumspect than a hearty clapping of hands then you need /golfclap. Aaron Denbo in Etceter teaches this when you ask him about Artifice.

Please note the second patch yesterday seems to have broken the gust ball where you summon it and it appears 30 feet away and will not move with the gust spell. Will be bugging this but may have to cancel the tourney today.
