Finally, now I am at 0.43 speed with Runic! Considering that my speed with normal English alphabets is about 0.36, this is not bad! :D

By the way, I played this game about once a day for about 3 weeks, and I achieved this speed. I can read Runic SO MUCH better than when I started.

Hi @Mata, @Beaumaris, @Miracle Dragon, @Lord Viator, @Whyterose Flowers, @darkskwerl, @Cordelayne, @Kara Brae, @Sir Cabirus, @Ravenclaw, and all of you who have downloaded the RUNIC GAME I programmed, I have just finished upgrading the game, and the new version ("Runic Game 1.1") can now be downloaded for free at http://sotaschool.weebly.com/

I have taken your suggestions, and "Runic Game 1.1" allows you to

    1. Select between learning "New Britannia Runic" or "Ultima Runic"

    2. Continue playing after the 10th lesson if you wish

    3. After every 4 lessons, there is a SPECIAL LESSON in which you are trained in your five slowest Runic alphabets. For example, for me, my five slowest alphabets are z, x, q, p, and g, so the SPECIAL LESSON trains me only on these five alphabets in that lesson. Your speed in SPECIAL LESSONS is not counted toward your average speed calculation for the game, so it does not affect your overall speed score.

just grabbed your game and ran the executable without installing (i already had dx installed), success!

neat little game there. for the game that adds more runes to the table as you go, you may want to start slower, with fewer runes on the first 'draw' or slowly speeding up the time inbetween each new rune draw.

sidebar: knowing the elder futhark outside of the replacemen t cipher used for the games, makes it a bit more tough because i'm translating twice to get the right answer lol

Yes, for most people, there's no need to install. Just run the executable and it should work.

Thanks for your suggestion, @ThurisazSheol and others who have made suggestions.

    I like it.

Would you consider adding a mode where it loads full words instead of just letters?

I can see it could be useful. Maybe when I have some free time.

    Hmmm... I have no idea.

    THANK YOU!!!

there are no numbers in the elder futhark as a written language either (EF is the base/foundation for the games runic, but the game is just using a visual replacement cypher for the differences), nor are there in most of the really ancient languages that have survived this long. - they could have used that fact as the basis for it as well.

This is truly a great tool. I'm actually known to know my runic fairly well and even I find this helps me get better. My hat is off to you good sir.

Can we get an HTML5-native web version for those of us who might be on Mac or Linux?

    Thank YOU!!!!!

Ouweeee! I don't know how to code HTML5 or for Mac or Linux... I coded it in DarkBasic Pro, which is Basic made for game coders, but it only runs on Windows. I know how to code in C, but I haven't done that for years. I'd love to learn Unity!!! One of those days, man, one of those days!

I figured it'd be the place to start, but feel free to dig deeper to make sure you'd find something worth your time.

I'm sure Portalarium would have some interest in a C#-based Runic translation mini-game to incorporate into SotA. ;)

Got from a little over 1 second to 0.8 now, but my biggest hurdle is the last character, I have to look at the keyboard most of the time when typing (I know, I know) so I remember chunks of 4-5 characters and than new one spawns for the next 5 seconds before I can finish the excercise:)

I was also playing one lesson for at least 15 minutes, it was so hard. I lost in the end, but the battle was amazing:)
