A Simple Guide to Lot Selection

I've seen many new and returning player, predictably, coming to the Forums seeking information on the Lot Selection Process and thought it would be beneficial to publish a simple guide to the process that may well be obfuscate by the mass of information that has been published over the last three years.

Beginning on the morning of Thursday the 28th of July at 09:30 am CDT the servers will be brought online and any Avatar will be able to log on at that time and do anything they might otherwise do other than claim a lot.

If you own a deed, or deeds, the beginning of the time(s) you can claim a lot is displayed on your Account page as shown here:



The "Lot Selection Groups" section will show your beginning time(s)

Beginning at your appointed time for any group prior to Group 91 here are the rules:

• You may use any ONE deed you own to claim any one unclaimed lot you wish.
• The type of deed, the location of the lot does not matter, all are covered under the same rule.
• The one exception to the above being Water Lots which require a Founder deed to claim.
• Any deed may be used to claim a lot of the listed size Or Smaller.
• You must travel to the lot you wish to claim and click on the lot marker stone or sign to claim it.
• You May transfer a lot claim to a different lot should you find a more attractive location after your initial claim.

The beginning time of the group after yours does Not affect your ability to claim a lot; if the next group after you has begun their claim window prior to you being able to claim a lot, you Can still claim a lot. The times listed are Beginning times. Once begun, your ability to claim your one lot does not expire.

Any remaining deeds in your inventory may be used to claim lots after the beginning of Group 91 at 03:00 CDT on the 24th of August.

Additionally, lot deeds will be locked to accounts and un-tradable for the duration of Release 32.

A Player Maintained Spreadsheet of Available Lots for the Selection Process can be found here. It's generally been kept well up to date through the efforts of a cadre of dedicated Avatars. This is going to be the best available resource for seeing what's available to claim where.

It may also be worth mentioning that deeds with Founder in their title will be the only deeds eligible for claiming water lots.

Another good bit of info: Just because you have a Castle Lot Property Deed doesn't mean you can't use it claim a Duke's Keep or a Baron's City Water Lot or a Row lot for that matter. All deeds are eligible for placement on their respective size lot as well as any other lot of a lesser size.

 

Can you claim another lot that you might find that is better than the first lot using the same lot deed you just placed? This is if you only have one lot deed. Will it empty the first lot leaving it for someone else to claim?

 

Yup, you can move spots with that first deed if you find a spot you like better.

 

Absolutely! This will be an amazing advantage for players with tax free deeds. Caution should be exercised when relinquishing lots where taxes are owed... you won't be able to claim a new lot until your tax debt is settled.

I friend's , i have a question about this process.. if i understand well, at my beginning time, to select a Lot.. i'm going to have a New Windows ? in my screen to select 1 Lot in a drop list? or i need to move myself, in all NPC or PRT Town to find a empty Lot?

 

You need to go to the desired location and click on the lot marker there.

 

Your best opportunity for a great location will be to log into the game as soon as you can after final wipe and start playing. Take note of your group's lot selection start time and have your avatar parked outside your favorite house (at the lot marker) when your time slot begins. It's also recommended that you have a list of favorite locations (lot markers) to choose from - some other player may want the same location as you and claim it before you get a chance to. Good luck!

 

Or park at the one next to it to make people think you want that one instead, then rush over at selection time. This might be a silly click fest for certain spots... have your backups mapped out so you can run fast for picks 2, 3, and 4.

 

You will need to be at the location of the lot you want to choose. The town crier will give a menu of all available lots. You can click one and follow the green arrow in your compass. If you don't like that one you can just keep going down the list until you find a location that makes you happy.

 

Great post on lot claiming, but I'm so disappointed ...I still have no idea how I'm going to select which lot to choose!
