Sometimes, it can be easy to get lost in the details regarding certain subjects. I have found that diagrams help me to understand things where descriptions and terminologies fail. This is especially true in an international community where definitions often differ between cultures and languages. With some of the confusion I have seen around property ownership, I had been thinking about making a flow chart for quite a while.

I am going to post this as a living document and welcome feedback if you find inaccuracies. It is rudimentary and lacking eye candy, but my goal at this point is accuracy. I will be adding more to it over time, but I think it is good for a place to start.*

@Kolder looks like you could add rental now as method of home "ownership". Or at least as a possibility of having a place to live.

Great work, could you do this with all pledge rewards? :)

I was serious, I find this to be very helpful. Although the spreadsheet that shows all the rewards is nice, a picture is worth a thousand words. If you feel tempted, good. It would be of value. :)

The linked file in the spoiler tag doesn't seem to work. I can't access it anyway.

    Thanks for this guide.

There is something i can't understand with the Keep & Castle : you say "Pledge only" both for plot & building.

But, if i want to buy a small village town like the first one : 1 castle and 5 housing plots, will i ever be able to buy a Castle plot & building (still as a non-pledger) to feel like the Lord of my garden ?

You will only be able to purchase Keep and Castle lot deeds from players who earned them via pledges. Namely they will only be initially available by trading with a Duke or Lord of the Manor player.

You will never be able to acquire a brand new deed solely in-game. :)

Not unless you are also a Lord of the Manor or someone else is a LotM.

Technically, the only way to obtain a keep or castle lot deed is through pledging. However, you may be able to buy a deed off of a pledger who owns one OR you may be able able yo own one if you play in offline mode.

Edit: beat to the answer. ;)

    Thanks, myLords :)

Well...my quest for housing is turning to a bitter smile, as the only house i really wanted is the Lord Manor, but Founder version (i don't like the Benefactor's one),
then i thought of a house boat but it is also a Founder's privilege. then i thought of my outpost with a Castle.

Nota : apart from a few "My wife decided she won't be invested in SotA, so i'm selling her Pledge", i don't believe that many castles will go for sale :p

    I have a question

If I have this, do I get to place both homes or just one of them?

    Thanks,

Houses are separate from lots deeds. If you have two lots deeds (city and keep lots for these), and you can find lots on which to use them, you can place them. However, the pledge only comes with one keep lot deed.

Yep, you'd need a Keep lot and a city lot.

A Duke has a Keep lot and a Village lot.

Just to buld on what Tahru and Sean Silverfoot of PAX have said, you would also have a plethora of houses but you can only use one per plot at a time.
