dallas has since retired from all of this.
I already purchased The Sword of Midras then second it hit the bookshelves at barnes and noble.
So if any version does get printed just make it look nice and in the format the devs feel does the story justice. Hand written signatures from Darkstarr and Lord British are a must!!
I've thought about purchasing that book. Until there is a definitive answer from Port, I can continue to wait. I have the kickstarter PDF version so I've read the book. I understand there are 4 more chapters in the publicly sold / Amazon / Barns and Noble and all / version. Ok. Maybe that's worth it. I dunno. I'll decide if I want to make that purchase 5 minutes after Port announces the book is printed or ... something else happens
I've never read it. Been waiting for my copy from Port. I dont want to read a pdf and Im not going to pay for something that Ive already purchased.
This is incorrect. He is responding to players at the time that complained that they wanted Sword of Midras (and it's extra 4 chapters) over Blade of the Avatar. If you read to the end of his post he says that the physical version of Blade of the Avatar would be delivered at the same time as the other rewards. What they could not do, and what some complained about at the time, was deliver Sword of Midras instead of Blade of the Avatar because of the agreement with the publisher. That is the issue he is addressing in the post.
I agree that the information in Dallas' post was accurate as of the time he posted that. There has been other discussions from the devs that stated the agreement with the publisher was they deliver the BotA for KS rewards but the decided to add content and release the new one as SoM to be purchased by the general public. Port tried to get them to deliver SoM as the KS reward but they did not agree and the deal went south after that.. So Port is /was looking for other publisher that will print BotA and deliver as KS reward but not found one that works or the can afford. It was originally planned to be delivered at the same time as physical rewards but legal issues with the publisher prevented that. I am confidant that something will eventually be delivered with signatures, hopefully including Tracy Hickman, but do not know the extent of his contract with the publishers.
Please link me to anywhere that states this. You linked to a 3 year old post as an explanation that states the exact opposite of what you are claiming.
The last information Starr gave was that the printer they wanted to use wanted all the art in the middle of the book, not printed throughout, and so they were going to self print. He never once claimed the dispute with the publisher you are suggesting. Please post any evidence you have via links to statements from Starr that there were contractual issues that have prevented them from legally printing the book as you've claimed.

I have a strong feeling the only update we'll get is this thread being locked.
I dunno. Oracle Watcher likes my post about keeping this at the top. So I’m gonna just keep the counter going until they get us updated.
I believe there are more than 4,000 backers at that level and above. The likelihood of there being that number of printed retail versions lying around at this point is probably very low.

If needed. I prefer to ask nicely upfront. Thanks
2384 days since KS( I transposed the number on the original count and it threw it off). Its only been about 6.5 years, not ~7.5 years.
