Account Pages fully re-enabled (including Melt Downs & Upgrades)

    Thank you all for your patience. We did not properly anticipate the number of backers who were waiting to melt down items and the servers were overwhelmed this morning. This was delaying patching and logging in so we had to temporarily disable access to the account page. We tried various fixes but the only thing that was working was to disable portions of the account page. That is why those of you who managed to get to your account page during brief uptime periods may have only seen certain things (either melt downs OR upgrade options).

    Our next tact was to slowly let players access the account page in limited numbers. That seems to have solved the issue for now and the peak has subsided.

    The good news is we have a lot more data that we can use to fix this issue.

    Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience. We will work very hard to make sure this does not happen going forward.

    No need for apologies we test the game for you guys and the same counts for login servers ect. at least this help you get all the date you need to fix the problems :)

    WOW, this is going to take me forever to smelt. I have 63 more items to go and only smelt 3 items so far today!!! Not looking good for me right now.

    Apologies for the problems with melting down items - it's way more players trying to do that than we expected. The account page is on top of that a bit heavy on it's database use, and needs to be redesigned for load, but also for usability, anyways. The latter is way overdue. It's on my list for a while, but I haven't gotten around it, yet, due to other, more urgent tasks. Sorry about that - it got a whole new priority now for the next wipe, that's for sure.

    would putting check boxes in so a player can submit multiple items in one pass make it better or worse?

    I'm just gonna go out & say it, thank you. It is much better we have these issues now then later & I actually saw it as a great issue to have. Shows how much interest folks have in what's going on & wanting to play SoTA. So thank you for doing what you could & equally so being responsive & transparent about what happened. It goes hand in hand with what you talked about during your presentation recently.

    I would guess one of the reasons so many people wanted to melt down there items is the fact, that you start turning every thing back to the normal prices, and so people try to get there deeds or upgrade there pledges.
    Plus the Halloween items rocks to ^^
