Seeds and Water are too expensive to compete with vendors!

You pay 16g for a seed, use at least 2 buckets of water to grow the plant (4g ea), and the vendors sell the same product such as garlic for 4g each! It cost 24g per garlic plant (if you water), and you get 3 garlic. The alchemist sells garlic for 4g - I'm now in the hole!!!

Please - either remove the items from the NPC vendors or reduce the cost of our planting supplies. How's a farmer supposed to make a profit?

I totally agree. Farming should be a viable way for a player to be productive. Maybe when the agriculture skill tree goes in there will be ways to make it more balanced with the economy if you have a higher skill. Too many unknowns right now, but it is not a good system as it currently is in the game.

Water buckets should be paid, but not destroyed on first use (like normal tools, with durability); and water itself should be collectable from any river or fountain.
