Something is afoot with Agriculture!

Upon logging into QA, my rubbing alcohol ready to deal with the immense physical stress of planting seeds and my handkerchief ready to absorb all the tears of agony when I was done planting my garden for the day. I had built myself up to it as i do each time, ready for the pain. It is what we were used to.

Then I logged in and to my surprise i was ready to plant seeds, having recently replaced my CTRL button for the 9th time this month. Then I found that there was this new recipe for sowing the seed! This is preposterous! You we simply have to double click the recipe to plant the seed rather than tediously holding CTRL and dragging the seed and water onto the bed each time...

You have taken out the single largest identifying factor for agriculture workers in the game!! .... Repetative stress injury, and crushing sense of regret....

This must be rectified immediately! We cant have farmers actually feeling comfortable in their tradeskills without the very real risk of personal injury.

... Just kidding.... seriously, thank you. If you take this from us, we will hurt you.

You are welcome, and thank you for reminding me that we did this. We did it at the beginning of R33 and I forgot to put it in the instructions. Adding now.

 

Can we get something so nicely functional for the printing presses?

 

I'll have to check it out. My guildmates are definitely missing the farming elements of Tree of Life it was their favorite part of the game.

 

And sigh... Unless I'm missing something subtle :

I see Bag mode gets shafted again.

One of these days, maybe, but not today apparently.

 

Were there any new skills in the skill tree for Agri? Something that maybe increases the seed return, reduces water consumption, increases yield or something simple like raining coto from the sky each time you plant a seed? (See, I am reasonable, I can compromise!)

 

My only goal in this game is to be a shepherd.
So what really interests me is sheep.
After that, I want to make sure that my lighthouse still has the ability to farm/ranch just as much as any other village lot.
I'm willing to suspend my disbelief with a magic farming basement.

 

I would expect that would have been a big line item in the release notes if that were the case.

Under QA384, there are still no skills under agriculture.

So, probably not in R33.

 

Though we still need better numbers on seed vendors - this is so far the greatest single thing to happen to agriculture yet. I look forward to this improving, and if I could use expletives i would but seriously - this is friggin great.

 

Still isn't really profitable to sell regs yet, vendor prices are too competitive to what we could grow them for... (unless I am missing some trick...)

Maybe I am doing this wrong, but it appears we have only one recipe and clicking it plants a random seed in the container. So to plant the exact seed type you want in the container you have to either continue to use the manual process or remove all the other seed types you don't want to plant yet from your inventory? I was originally thinking when I saw the recipe screen pull up and after trying it our realized it would plant a random seed that if I manually planted a seed that I would "learn" that seed recipe where I could then plant that seed type where I wanted.

Am I just doing this wrong?
