I admit, I'm impatient just twiddling my thumbs when we have the R1 package still installed. Granted it's still limited, but I'd like to still play around with Owl's Head and the conversation system. Any chance the Dev team would open this back up periodically until R2 comes around? :D

I wouldn't mind trying to break test things for a little longer, especially to explore the full conversation system. I could only play sporadically because R1 opened up during my Grad school finals.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. :)

Personally I made tons of video, so I am just replaying those and pretending my mouse clicks and keyboard presses are actually controlling the action. :)

Hmm that was very forward thinking of you. What did you use to record? Does it look as good as the game itself?

    I think I'll do the same w/ R2, when's that coming again?

    Thanks!

I just close my eyes and replay it on the backs of my eyelids.

I dunno about Umbrae but I used FRAPS to record some video while in R1. And R2 is scheduled to be, I think, 3rd week of January.

Well, the problem is that we're already busily breaking fixing the build so that we can get it ready for next month.

Bah! Guess I'll have to go replay Martian Dreams while I wait then!

(Great work on the demo, btw. Now hurry it up! :)

3rd week of January, awesome, my gf is out of town for the last 2 weeks of January. Hopefully its not over the MLK Jr Birthday weekend as I'll also be vacationing lol (I missed 90% of R1 for the same reason).

I suggested in chat (mostly in jest... mostly) that they leave a 'live' version up in between releases with the caveat that it was served 'as is'... no problem fixing until the next release. ;)

I started with ezvid which was well advertised, but I would avoid that like the plague. They don't allow you to use your own audio easily and claim its to avoid getting your YouTube account banned for copyright infringement. However, the audio mixes (including one that is very soft white noice) they "SAY" are safe to use are there so they can claim ownership of your video. I already had one I submitted for a bug report removed because ezvid attacked me for using the audio they forced me to use. I ended up having to strip audio from the ones I did with ezvid.

My savior was Open Broadcaster Software (http://obsproject.com/) which is fantastic and free/open source. It is mainly for streaming, but you can stream to a file. The quality is 100% (although YouTube will fudge it a little when you upload) and it will get the game audio and allow you to mic in if you want. I highly recommend it and this video is great for setting it up. Note: I play at 1080p resolution and not sure how it would be a higher rez.

As an example, I used OBS for this video:

There's some amount of monitoring they have to do while we futz around in-game. It's best to let it lie until R2.

ezvid just made my black list, I've heard of them but no idea they pulled this kind of crap.
