Applying Vendors as Patterns: Ouch!

Everything to the bank! 200 items now have to be relisted if you want to change your vendor appearance.

I know that using the pattern system seemed like a good idea, but lets put this in context. If you want to repattern your sword, it takes like 3 mouse clicks.

If you want to repattern a full vendor, we're talking potentially a few thousand mouse clicks and keystrokes, particularly if the vendor has buy orders on it.

Seriously, I'm super excited to change the look of my vendors, but now I'm sitting here thinking, "I'm going to have to take this slowly, roll it out over a month or so."

I need to be able to just apply the new pattern via his interface, or right click, and it consumes the pattern, switches it's look, and done with it.

 

Also not everyone has a CF vendor.

Yeah, that's a huge impossibility, you're right. So the S Mart Dandy Department is going to have to keep looking Not Dandy, because that ones commissioned and I don't want to take the giant hit on gold that it will nail me with to remove and replace all those items, paying commission a second time.

 

vendor management = pain.

i'd give one of my hats if some of the devs could run a few reasonably busy vendors for a few weeks.

 

Yeah, I'll have to leave my vendor alone until the inventory sells so I don't have to pay to re-list everything.

I assume that it works the same for non-CF vendors too.

 

The current system on non cf-vendors leads to unmainted vendors. One have to pay re-list costs when prices changes in game, also.
It would be better, when the 10% would taken on item sold or bought. Not before.

Non CF-Vendors get their pattern also applied on the alchemy table.

 

Unfortunately it's practically mandatory to update your vendor with a pattern too because anyone using the old model will be perceived as an unattended vendor.

 

If anyone makes that assumption,then that's on them. Not everyone is going thru the trouble of relisting everything.

So, if you have a regular, non-CF vendor, does everyone lose their commission if you take it down?

 

Yes.

 

They really need to change it so that the commission is charged when the item is sold. This paranoia about how people might use their vendor for storage is simply rediculous.

 

Actually I see the opposite happening. Where there was a chance i would spend $ and IGG on upgrades.

Having to remove and relist 400 items 200 sell / 200 buy on multiple vendors is gonna stop me from doing it anytime soon if at all.
And many others who have multiple vendors IMHO.

I Predict MANY old vendors remain. but i could be wrong.

Yeah, that's the probably outcome, which means that we won't be looking for the new vendors only, because we all know that most of us are like about the amount of work it's going to take to relist.

I'll probably plug away at them, like 1 a week, for a while. But still, that's not an ideal outcome.


Ideal outcome: We all go buy our patterns, walk to each vendor, apply, done! Novia looks great now! (And Hidden Vale.)

 

it sounds like a must, to apply a vendor pattern. What is about the ones, that like the "original" vendor outlook? Should not buy from them anymore, because they use old, aka bad/evil, things?
i guess port. has foreseen that, and enable you to buy a brand new pattern (brown male vendor) to apply to the original one, that make him look exactly the same. Isn't that great?

At least for cf-vendors re-listing is free of cost and need to be done only one time.
