yes my ring is an artifact i understand what you are saying about the essence but what i don't get is how it's fixed. is there a recipe i need to get? i have things like repair item in my book but nothing that goes with the ring, what station/recipe needed?

 

put your ring amd the essence on the blacksmithing station and click on the repair button.
last time i repaired my ring it didn't work with essence so i used a coto instead.

 

I can't remember, been a while, but, I think you can only use a Gold COTO to restore Max Durability on Artifacts. Whereas, with regular crafted items you can use any COTO.

 

The only thing you need to do is Drag/Drop the Ancient Essence onto the ring. There is no recipe required.

Also, a thing to note is that you probably need to have a blacksmith's hammer equipped in order to do the repair at the blacksmithing station. If it is not working after you check to be sure the essence/gold CotO and the item to be repaired are on the backsmithing table, check to be sure your blacksmithing hammer (tool) is not broken.

 

Not really more efficient. It's good if you are trying to raise your repair skills. I'm not sure if a higher level of Repair Skill increases the amount that an Ancient Essence or Gold Coto will repair. Maybe someone else has more information on that.
