    Gotta say I always liked the idea. Even had it on NBNN and WRFB web sites for a while.

    But something about folks complaining about being tracked made me remove it from those sites.

    Just sharing my experience.

    Just to let you know... the site is misrepresenting my location. It shows me on land along the Pacific coast, while I really reside in the ocean waters.

    Yes, the used to automatically list IP addresses. They've since stopped doing that. There are no trackers on the map, and only uses basic HTML cookies so it remembers you were on the page to keep from duplicating your visit. You can view their Privacy Statement here.

    You probably need to discuss that with your Internet Service Provider. Your geolocation associated with IP address is provided by them. One way to try to fix it is to disconnect your modem from the network overnight, that is if they use dynamic IP, and it might reset your IP address to something that is more aligned with your location.

    Dont worry too much! It's just your breakout location for whatever ISP service you're using.
    It may or may not exist in the same town as you are located. ISPs dont always have these exit/entry nodes in the same location as you. Even more so in the vast expanses of the US I should imagine. It depends wherever you are routed from your home. Its usually pretty close, however if the ISP needed to do maintenance on your local breakout, then your could easily be routed out to the internet via another point in another town far away, totally transparently to you.

    Same principle for VPN or whatever other service you might route your traffic through before hitting this website.
