Background seeder / patcher

I would prefer if there were a background process that ran and kept my installation up to date and also seeded the patch for others; instead of being stalled with an updated each time I want to play.

 

Yeah, running this as a service in the background would be pretty cool.

 

Steam will update SotA in the background (unless you're log'd in and playing).

 

set up a torrent client that can watch an rss feed. it can't patch for you, but it'll be downloaded.

I didn't purchase it through Steam.

 

You can connect it to steam via your account page on the game client/steam page.

You cannot undo this connection.

 

steam gets MUCH bigger patches than the standalone patcher. if you're doing it in the background maybe it won't matter...

 

Yup, if you let Steam begin at bootup - then it catches the patches as soon as they're avail and downloads in the background.

 

Not everyone purchased SOTA through Steam.
