Beyond Frustrated...

    Let me start by saying i am all for balance etc,

    but at what point can we say enough is enough?

    With the introduction of Upper Tears, A lot of people have Grouped up a lot more and socialised more than i have seen in my 3 years in this game.

    And with this new popular spot, comes the ever present voice of people screaming OP, its too much etc

    If this place and others similar keep getting Nerfed or ''Better balanced'', then please tell me, what is the point of the attenuation cap?

    i agree the amount of loot need to be looked at and better balanced.. if people Want to grind then let them, the exp cap is there for that purpose so people cant over do it..

    All that will be achieved by constantly swinging the nerf hammer Is it acting as a deterrent from people grouping etc..

    Think carefully before taking any more Action please...

    Pretty common in the mmo sector.
    At some point all dungeons get nerfd to a level where really everybody and her dog can clear them. That's part of this 'why do I get locked out of xyz content?!?!' discussion. I would say getgud and l2pnoobs but I was told (by a friend a few month ago) I am a relic and my opinion is from the late 90s soooooo *shrugs*.

    The issue here is that the complete opposite is said to be happening for tears. Chris did not say he was going to make it easier and reduce efficiency, he said he was going to make it harder (stronger mobs) but with the same experience dropped by them, which means it will slow down exp/hour since mobs are slower to kill, and it will raise the level cap, since mobs will kill us faster, thus making this zone more and more a zone for the elite, and lower leveled players wont be able to join as much.

    If all SotA has to offer are just tiny spots with tons of mob waves for "worthwhile" group content then that's just really ultra sad.

    They should think 100 times more carefully about how to finally make atleast 25% of the game content interesting and useful for "groups".

    In other words, they don't really need to balance Uppear Tears and be done with it.
    They actually need to or "should" balance the entire PVE content!!!...

    While there may or may not be a problem with UT as it is at present I do think the bigger problem is that it shows up how poor alot of the other scenes still are by way of comparison.

    I think what people keep forgetting is the "fun" element. If people are grouping all the time, it generally means they are having fun. I believe part of the fun process is being able to level your character at a reasonable rate.

    If there is a belief that too many people gathering in the same location then maybe it is not that location that is OP.......maybe it's other areas that quite frankly are not rewarding. My view is that the issue is the latter.......rather than seeing popular areas nurfed, i'd much rather see unpopular areas boosted. It's also worth noting that not everyone likes group play, some like to play by themselves and there should be areas where they can also hit attenuation.

    Whilst i'm at it, the rate at which you gain XP during double XP sessions quite frankly should just become the standard.

    Thats because they need to make more areas like Upper tears across The Land, :)

    Theres lots of places for people to group. It just so happened that tears came out with the LFG tool and it took off. If people would spin up CP groups and train people how to run em, Id bet people would.

    Which was my point. Balancing out the entire PVE content and not just trying to tinker arround with Upper Tears.
    But it looks like i was not clear enough on my posts before :D

    But please not always just "wave" after "wave" content, that's so soulless, so boring, so i dunno really what to say, SotA should have to offer more than just that.

    Every time I hear the word Attenuation now, an old Carly Simon song comes to mind...

    A ten u ation... a ten u a a tion it's making me late... it's keeping me wai ai ai ai aiting...

    Any game that is designed to make people stand around and wait for large blocks of time obviously has a huge flaw somewhere. The idea is to play - not stand around.

    I agree and this is an issue of having both single player and multi online. Fix the XP for groups and you break it for the single player....fix it for the single player and it's way too easy for groups. Nurf the reward (XP/Loot) and people just lose interest and move onto other games.

    The real answer is probably to have scenes scale......attenuation in many ways is a proxy for that.

    I wouldn't disagree, was just pointing of the issue. In UO it didnt really matter because skills were capped......when there are no caps things have to be put in place to maintain an element of balance between player and the answer cant be persistently nerfing scenes.

    The problem with UT is the quick turn around from the end of one event to the next. What is it, 20 seconds? 30 seconds? Increase the time for the event starting NPC's to respawn to 2 minutes, or 5 minutes...and that controls the flow of XP. No need to make the fight harder (that just means that only higher level players get to partake, for the most part).
