So.... the first unscripted land rush with PvP and the ability to pick pocket deeds as people arrive? One zone in point? Rez killing?

Should be the most entertaining day in SotA history to date. When does it happen? I need to book a vacation day.

@Berek should probably be getting people worked up about this date starting now!

I do think we have some absolutely structural issues that will prohibit us to use a zone like this. The PvP system with Oracle will not sustain battles in areas like this.

I would expect to go into that zone and just have a great day PvP'ing however I know that I would step foot in to the zone and then take my first PvP death. I would loose 3 items in my bag including one piece or armor, a set of reagents and maybe my entire stack of recall scrolls (I use these because this is what I lost in my last open flag test). That means that Im running around missing one peice of armor, unable to cast half my spells and not be able to recall out. That was on the very first death. If I decided to just pay the oracle then that was a loss of 2.5K gold. Now, Im not poor but 2.5K gold is still a lot, that is what I earn in an hour of farming 5 skulls in Sequenna Collosus selling 500 pounds with of stuff.

Now imagine the 2nd and 3rd death.

These kinds of battles result in dozens of deaths.

How are the dev's gonna deal with this?

 

Ok, the reflection of the lava off the Shardfall stones is awesome! Amazing work. With all the lavaflow directly into the water, mining for obsidian chips should be a no-brainer! This is also a perfect place for random Chaos Daemons to pop up; seems like their kind of place.

@Vas Corp Por , are they're going to be any resource nodes on the atoll ? For instance, I'd imagine there'd be sulfur in a volcanic area like that. (It would also be a natural source of obsidian, the real thing, not necessarily what we have in the game!)

 

I'll come check it out. I'll be wearing founder or elven armor, a founder bow, and have 500 stacks of two arrows. I expect my losses to be minimal; it seems to work fine for Shardfalls.

Still, an awesome scene. Looking forward to seeing it live.

 

Hmmm. If we guess the location can you say warm or cold?

Im guessing the bridge in the scene spans the location on the overworld map where the exit river is from the lake in the mountains West of Brit.

That or near Tenebris

 

My guess is somewhere in the South West quadrant of the map.

 

I've been thinking it could be somewhere in the Bay of Storms... with access from a point near Jaanaford, or a spot close to where Coral Cove was located (just south of the Oracle Colossus).

I can't remember the last time I checked out Lake Equitas on the overworld map... looking at it today, it's damn near perfect for a big volcano and a ferry to the seventh circle of Hell.

 

Are tax free founder deeds pickable by a thief?

If you die in pvp, can you lose the deed?

 

AFAIK, pledge rewards are not loot-able/steal-able.

The zones built in this game are by far some of the coolest and most beautiful in any game. I know some people dislike the overland/zone setup but I really think it allows for more care being given to special locations rather than having to include enough "filler" to connect all these places in a seamless open world.
