Can you guys please fix this? Having stuff like this that's broken for two or more releases is really unacceptable.

Did you bug report it? I don't see that in Desert Encounter. Stuff nobody else sees isn't going to get fixed by itself.

bugged in qa 54, and the devs had already caught it internally.

Well, then, if the devs know about it, there's probably a good reason why they can't fix it right now.

This is GNU/Linux specific. And has been bug posted already a few times.

Yup, they are aware and will fix it as soon as they can.

It's on the known issues list.

Which is the reason why it hasn't been fixed yet. :(

[edit] A long time ago, they replaced the male guard model. The geometry of this model was whacked on Linux. It was so bad that it blotted out my whole screen while running through town. I had to look straight down in order to get to where I was going. This bug lasted for many (more than 5) months before it was finally fixed. :(

[edit2] Long before persistence, when they added mouselook mode, they also introduced a bug where, if you're in cursor mode and using the right mouse button for mouselook, the cursor will reappear any time a window is opened or closed (even on someone else's client when in multi mode) or when you go out of combat mode. This bug is still there. I've given up complaining about it because I know that since they haven't fixed it in nearly three years, it'll never get fixed.

Sorry if I seem a bit cynical but, you know... history.

This is the problem when using a engine where you can not fix it yourself as a developer, they are dependant on Unity for these kind of fixes. :(

Although the texture rendering should not be the case of the above dependency.

From what we can tell this is fixed in Unity 2018. But we cannot move our linux builds to 2018 because of the input issue. Pick your poison:
    • control your character
    • non-green trees
Feel free to throw some votes their way to hopefully accelerate the fix.

ah, THAT input bug. you know, when you were testing the build that did that, i never saw that problem. have you tested it against different versions of libinput?

Did you have low frame rates? You would not have noticed the issue if not. It's an internal Unity bug as we were able to reproduce this on 3 different linux boxes around the office.

This issue didn't exist before R54. Are you saying that something changed with Unity in R54?

Likely a Unity version update. Either way it doesn't matter as we're faced with 2 choices moving forward:
    1. replace all "bad" vegetation in 300 some-odd scenes
    2. wait for unity to fix linux input issues so we can get all of our builds on the same unity build version which also (I am told) fixes the green
Unfortunately #1 is not a quick fix and would take far more time than you might think - which is why we haven't done it (even when we had a much larger team).

I don't use Linux but I created a Unity account and up voted just to help out.

Honestly, it looks like one type of tree and one type of bush. Maybe they simply copied and pasted the whole thing, multiple times, into each scene.
