Title: Can't repair artifacts at a crafting table

Details: Trying to repair a ring of life attunement using an Ancient Essence at a crafting table - the "repair" option doesn't become available.
Steps to Reproduce: Try to repair a life attunement ring using an ancient essence at a blacksmithing table.

You want to use the essence as if it is a tool kit in your inventory So click and drag the essence over the ring.

I first thought the same as you did, so it's all good.

@Lexie Is it intended that on an item that was 4/48 an ancient essence only repaired it to 25/48? Given the method, thought it would do a standard 30 durability like a repair kit. 21 is kind of a ripoff.
