Rings (and probably also necklaces) are still counted as a weapon and not as armor when you enchant them.

This doesn't really make any sense. Rings are clearly an armor and not a weapon.

Don't they show up as damaged/broken under the armor status icon? Or does that depend on whether they contribute to defense or offense?

Personally, I think support gear like rings, jewelry, capes, etc. should have a third category.

Rings and necklaces with jewels have enchantments that enhance the weapon enchantments, so they are tied more closely to weapon enchant than armor enchant.

Also, people use 1 or 2 weapons in a loadout, but 5 pieces of armor. If you make these armor it will skew the training ability for everyone to level up weapon enchant to something unplayable, with a 7-1 or a 7-2 skew (instead of a 5-3 or 5-4 skew as it stands currently)

oh, and thinking that a ring will protect your digit as a piece of armor makes me giggle

"lucky you were wearing that ring Seargent, the glancing blow saved your finger"

@Elnoth Well said. Some crafted jewerly gives magic related weapon enchantments, depending on what you make. There are good ideas all around, but this goes more into design changes more than being an actual bug.

Noted. But all armor has the potential to give weapon enhancements, yet you can't use armor or rings/necklaces to fight with (which is why it is armor and not a weapon).

This is one of those things where it simply doesn't make sense. I'll stop reporting it. But if you're going to use "it's by design" it should really have some kind of consistent logic backing it up. Hopefully if you go back to the development team, you'll mention that rings and necklaces can't be used as weapons (in any way) thus it's very odd that we've designed them to be enchanted as weapons.
