This is from last week's build (maybe not this one).

I've noticed that, at least in Brittany, that walking along I may lose control of the camera slightly and then it jumps to looking up at the sky or some other direction. It is really quite annoying.

I would theorize this is coming from Brittany-related lag, I will see if I notice this in other scenes.

But basically I'll be walking somewhere, say, out of the Bank by the water, and then find my screen pauses for a second and I am all of a sudden looking straight up at the sky.

Same here, but happens randomly, in all kind of scenes/zones.

There is a 0.5 - 1 sec game/camera freeze every now and then.

This is happening to me also everywhere, not just Brittany. I only started playing the game this week though so not sure if it is something related to this patch or not. I tried turning down the mouse sensitivities in the game settings but it doesn't help.

If possible, could you all provide System Spec information to assist us in investigating this issue. Looking for common links as to a cause for the skygazing you're observing. Thank you for reporting.

I'm not in-game for awhile, but here's my specs from another post. I noticed it in Brittany, but it could be everywhere.

I tend to play on relatively high settings @ 1920x1080 (native). I am mostly using freelook when running around, but I will try and be more observant about criteria. I was reporting this post after the fact so the details were not fresh.

    Title: same
Reproduction Rate: random, but frequent, I'd say once every 2-3 minutes, and may happen everywhere.
    Blocker? kind of
    Details: see Lord Andernut's posts.
I'm using right mouse button to pan and left one to walk.
I already noticed this with previous release, but it was much less frequent (like once an hour)

It's not just the camera, i believe the entire game keeps freezing every 2 - 5 secs for atleast 0.5 - 1 sec.
Happens more frequently the longer i play. Zone doesn't matter.
As soon i relaunch the game it seems "almost gone", for a while atleast.

Ofc. the result of this is sometime having your camera skygazing.

But to me, this is "probably" not just related to the camera.

Can't really explain what's going on, but i know i had zero issues like this in R23 (last i played before R29) and my hardware didn't change since then.

You may also look at this thread because that's exactly how it plays for me atm (well he says lag, but i am sure he meant stutter/freezing):

I'm getting it a lot when decorating or moving things around on my plot/in house. It seems to jump the camera to be pointing somewhere different than when i went into picking up the item and moving it and dropping it again somewhere. It seems the camera then takes the movement straight after the placing of the item and exaggerates it and you find a slight movement of the mouse when you have dropped the item to spin the camera around/up/inwards or something quite disorientating. I have only really had it this release and i think it has something to do with the new camera/cross hair controls personally.
It does also happen when out running about in much the same ways as described by others posts above.

So let me better explain the issue I was talking about.
Basically, the camera view will jump and will be facing somewhere you weren't even looking, as if the mouse sensitivity was set to times 100 but after adjusting the mouse sensitivity all the way down, it still happens just the same.

I will try to record a video of exactly what I am talking about so it is completely understood within the next few days hopefully.

Linux, Windows and Mac clients all have this issue. For me it seems to be related to glyph usage mainly though it does seem to happen sometimes when harvesting. The latter is less of an issue ;-)

Also for me it happens both window mode and full screen.
