Can trial accounts receive items/gold from others?

Hi, I have a friend who wants to try the game in free trial. The free trial page says only that the trial account cannot give items/gold to other players. Should he be able to receive them? Would be nice if I could give him some starting gold and/or items. If not, the page should probably be amended to state so.

Yes you can trade items TO a trial player. You cannot trade items FROM a trial player.

I've given many trial players some swag, never tried gold though, but I believe that is tradable as well.

I gave some emotes to a trial player once.

I think the objective is that things done with a trial account be unable to transfer to regular players. For instance, someone gets 10 of his buddies to start gold farming on a trial account, then trade the result to a regular account right before the trial ends. That would also be why they are not allowed to buy things off of vendors, because it gives money to a player. ("But I really want to pay 10,000 gold for that exquisite corpse wax!")

Trial accounts also shouldn't be able to give money to each other, because they could all give to a single trial account that is made legit at the end of the trial period.
