Cannot play game

Since the Release 26, I cannot get into the game. I can log in but once I log in I get a White screen then an error message saying: "Shroud of the Avatar.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have been able to play the game until this release. Below is the stats for my laptop...

Have you tried a full reinstall of the game? It's possible something might have corrupted during patch. Also, what Operating System are you using to play the game? Any additional system specs to help us investigate the issue. would be appreciated. Thank you for the report.

 

I am unable to log in also I had to stop playing when the 32 bit support was dropped and now I have a new PC. I downloaded yesterday. I get to the screen where I enter player name and password. I enter the name (same as logging to the forums) then get 1he 1st 3 letters of the password then the next character pops to the name field. Nvidia Geforce GT 730.

Do you happen to have any extraneous input devices plugged in beyond standard mouse and keyboard?

 

No nothing at all, not even headset a headset. I tried compatibility mode w7. I may try another download tonight. unless I can find the problem. I also do not have steam.

Anybody got any ideal yet on why I cannot log in ? I still cannot play SotA since the last release. See my above replies...

 

I did not receive a response to my question regarding if you had tried to do a full reinstall of the game. We would also require additional system spec information to be able to assess the issue further.

 

running win 10 64, since the last release i am unable to login, the game stop responding. I did reinstal 3 times and still no answers from devs on steam or here. This is really frustrating....

i registered an account and downloaded the client today and I have yet to be able to play. I am able to start and login to the client but when it gets to connecting it then says shroud of the avatar has stopped working and it has to close. Thanks for anyone's help in advance. It sounds like a compatibility issue. Have you tried running the game in the appropriate compatibility mode?

 

SotA System requirements (as stated on Steam):

This may be a contributing factor.

 

What do you mean running the game in the appropriate compatibility mode?

 

The problem is likely that your AMD processor isn't compatible with Unity.

There is a fix.

Simply click the above download link, and download the 32 bit files. Then replace your existing 64 bit files with these 32 bit files.

One is 'Shroud of the Avatar.exe'

and the other is 'mono.dll'

If you are using steam, the file location should look like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SotA
(for shroud of the avatar.exe)

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SotA\Shroud of the Avatar_Data\Mono
(for mono.dll)

If you're not playing through steam, the file location should look like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Portalarium\Shroud of the Avatar
(for shroud of the avatar.exe)

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Portalarium\Shroud of the Avatar\Shroud of the Avatar_Data\Mono
(for mono.dll)


This should fix your problem. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any help. You should set your video settings to 'Fastest' as soon as you can, because of your low RAM. You should also stay out of bigger cities like Ardoris, Owl Head, or Brittany because you're playing under the RAM requirement and will likely crash on entry. Your best bet is to stay on smaller maps, without housing, until you get a better PC.
