Cannot whisper or call out in local or zone chat while dead. I thought this had beenallowedrecently

I heard from a friend that it is better to be res'ed by a friend than res'ed at an ankh, because the death penalty is about one half the health if res'ed by a friend.

So, when I die, I try to chat with a friend and it just says you can't whisper while dead. I cant call out in local chat, nor can I call out in zone chat.

In this case I was leveling safe fall at Darkstarr's house just after the big party ended on Monday. I jumped from higher and higher until I perished.

Is there a good reason why I cannot chat with friends, local or zone players while dead in QA after jumping to my death? I thought this had been changed so we could call for a res now that it gives less death penalty.

 

in adventure zone or in pvp you could act as a scout without penalty....

 

I used to play this game a mud called Dragon realms where when dead you could not speak intelligibly but could go like 'blub blub blub' to at least let folks near you see you were dead. (you could also drag corposes back to towns for rezz or for mischief lol).. the booooo .. oooooooh ... ghost sound would be at least something rather than forcing folks to have to use a 3rd party tool like Teamspeak, Discord etc to say "Yo dude need a rezz here."

 

I do get that thought for pvp but since for PVE most groups go party ... why not there?

(and again discord, teamspeak etc you still can scout as dead person) just saying

 

But a scout who only sees white glowy blobs and no player names would not be very useful...
