Can't display any more?

Several months ago during a patch it became possible for the Bonesteel Crown, Heart of Sorrows, and the Scepter of Dread to be taken out of your quest inventory and displayed in your homes. I did that then and they hung on my wall very nicely for months. Last week I moved to a new house and when I tried to hang them up on the walls there they turned green when I moved them as if it would work but when I let go of the mouse button to position them on the wall I got a message that 'Quest items must be kept in your inventory' and it throws them back into my inventory and won't let me hang them up.
Did I miss something where that was taken away? I've tried several times hoping it was a bug but it won't work.

they were never supposed to be have the quest item flag turned off. it caused problems, so it was undone.

you CAN make patterns for them now, and then place things patterned with them as deco. the pattern recipes drop off some of the cabalists

 

Any hint as to the best place to obtain the recipes? Also, doesn't it require the use of the obsidian forge in order to make the patterns?

 

All 3 recipes drop from the cabalists, but only to players who finished the quests to obtain the dread artifacts.
And yes, you need to create the patterns at the obsidian forge.

Do you know how to look at a Moondial and see when they will happen?

 

I use tele to zone to check sieges. Every time I check, there's at least 4 towns under siege.

 

I use to overworld map and explore and find them. Usually just me and other newer players.

Nice! Got two of the recipes from a single siege.

 

Now I'm at an impasse. All the recipes require light unicorn blood, I can't kill light unicorns without a virtue hit and I'm unable to find vendors selling light unicorn blood.

However, I did find a recipe for Potion of the Master Air Mage (for a million gold).

I have to ask before I do it: is there a virtue hit when crafting a Potion of Distilled Light Unicorn Blood?

I'm not sure about the virtue question, sorry.

I hold it with 2 characters very easily, but they're both tamers. You basically need someone to at least take the aggro while you use the forge. So I think a adv 100-110 could probably do that with most builds if your just trying to run in and get it done. Make sure to summon the most powerful pet or summon for the player working the forge. It's just fire elementals and obsidian elementals, but it's a lot of them continuously. Good spot to farm sulfurous ash, gold, and fire artis too btw. And a small chance at a vex wand but you have to get lucky. If you need a hand, let me know!
