Wow (X-files music) it appears that Logan's Farm has been removed from the world. Is this some type of alien conspiracy? What will we do now? Me thinks we will move on to Whyte Roc but that would be up to leader @Elgarion :O This may be the end of everything :)

We just entered the next round of fishing about 36 minutes ago -- here's the new locations! Don't forget to convert your water to saltwater! I suspect 1 or 2 towns never lifted up their conversion statues. I see some folks were fishing saltwater this past week. Careful, governors! :) Players, if you see a governor with the wrong water type, please let them know :)

    FISHING PRIZES & OBJECTIVES:
All prizes will be no-trade. Players may donate additional prizes in the name of their guilds or towns to sweeten the pot. This event timeframe is Friday the 25th at Noon CT to Friday the 2nd of October at Noon CT, and these are the prizes and goals for the indicated week:

    Largest SALTWATER Fish (Town):
-- Rules: Must be caught from one of these towns. Governors can request a loaner water conversion statue to meet water requirements.
-- Prizes: Player Owned Town Row Lot Deed, Large Gold Fishing Trophy
Outlander Welcome Center, Novia Near Soltown (@Bayard)
    Fallin' Green (@Chirp)
    Largest Fish (PvP):
-- Rules: Must be caught in Paladis Shardfall
-- Prizes: 2 Chained Obsidian Shard 3-Packs, Large Silver Fishing Trophy

    Largest Lava Fish:
-- Rules: Must be caught in Blackblade Foothills
-- Prizes: Fishing Rod of Prosperity, Large Bronze Fishing Trophy

    Participation Prizes:
-- Rules: Everyone who caught at least 1 trophy fish in this week's locations
-- Prizes: Small Silver Fishing Trophy

    CROSS-OVER EVENTS:
Prizes provided by the Community Manager will be available for participants and winners of the Fishing event, but governors, guild leaders and players are welcome to sweeten the pot by providing additional prizes based on objective criteria entirely of their own design. In fact, please consider planning events to overlap the duration and chosen weekly locations of the PvP and Fishing developer events. Please post these events in the in-game events forums and the Community Manager will promote accordingly. Please submit links to event threads which take place in the spotlighted towns, PvP zone or PvE zone.

    Current Crossovers:
    -- No Crossover Events Announced

    NEXT WEEK'S ROUND OF POTs:
To aid governors better plan, the next round of POTs to compete (fetid water) will be from Noon to Noon, Friday to Friday, October 2nd to October 9th:
    Whyte Roc (@Cypher Black)
    Brittany Fort (@Sonja)
    Beran's Reach (@Vallas (Beran’s Reach) )

Looks like the town name is now Valor and its changed hands. I've removed Logan's Farm from the list. Only 2 POTs this week :) Valor will appear again soon in its rotation.

We'll just stick with 2 this week for simplification and it keeps the flow of towns steady and predictable with the new notifications I'm doing (from player feedback). We try to only add 1 town into the list per owner, so which would you prefer to be on the list? It'll be varied which water is used depending upon which water type cycles in during that period. If I add you this week, it'll make yours come up 2 weeks from now as I add your town of choice to the list.

What type of water will we be fishing in for this tournament?

I would like to get Whyte Roc set up in advance.

    Thanks!

let do Jade Valley for that next slot Please. I can switch to which ever water type needed type.

A request: If there's a open spot on a Fetid water week in October can I get Jade Garden in on that one. ( There's a coming post for a Halloween story being built there and it involves fetid water. :D)

A great time was had by all, @Tellana !
Best SpinOff ever, and that's sayin a lot. Dougan had a good one as well.

Did you get Knightmare Falls on Elgarion's list for the future, so you can do another SpinOff and I can kick Flair's hiney again ? ;)

For the duration of this week's round, the two fishing-related devotionals are placed directly at the harbour of Fallin' Green. You can't miss them :)

Good luck with the tournament, and have a look at LAMP's wonderful side contest too!

Is there a way that the tourny could be run using the API to save hassle. To enter just set your API data to be public?

It should be announced what type(s) of fish are permitted each week sometime before the end of the previous tournament.

You could have a few more tournies this way with things like hunting.

Elgarion already runs the fishing contest based on pulling from the back end data tables.

Unfortunately the fishing leader board is still broken and doesn't contain city caught, so side contests are still fairly manual - but player engagement should be a goal of the side contests IMO.

Always a GREAT thing to do for fishermen, especially in tournament towns !
I know Redhammer and Lijuan had theirs by the docks and was it ever handy !
Oh, and @Chirp - your SpinOff (side contest) is also appreciated....

The "Leaderboard" for fishing doesn't even list all the fish caught for whatever reason....
@Elgarion Can the data you are now using for fish caught be used to replace the Fish "Leaderboard" that we have ?? PLEASE ;)
