    Thanks for the Update Winston!

One little bit of feedback if I may, the PvP locations, they seem to repeat themselves, and we haven't even seem to gone through the lot of them.

    R87 Paladis Shardfall
    R88 Blood Bay
    R89 Libris Ruins
    R90 Kas Ruins
    R91 Paladis Shardfall
    R92 Rhun Ruins
    R93 Verdantis Shardfall
    R94 Dysbord Ruins
    R95 Paladis Shardfall
    R96 Rhun Ruins
    R97 Verdantis Shardfall
    R98 Dysborg Ruins
    R99 Verdantis Shardfall

I don't know if you guys use some sort of random generator to select the scene, which would make a lot of sense, and explain a lot, but at the same time, for diversities sake, and for the benefit of helping players discover more scenes, it would be nice if there was a way to eliminate duplicate choices, at least when they present themselves in such a short window.

We still haven't seen in this rotation :

    Grunvald Shardfall
    Opalis Ruins
    The Fall
Tartarus's Cursed Maze (might not be a good choice tbh)

So while we've seen Verdantis 2 times in the last 3 releases, we've never seen 3 scenes since the introduction of the contest, and both Paladis Shardfall and Verdantis Shardfall have been seen 3 times now!

Little nit-picky, but I hope this can give ideas or help the selection process for next times!

Excellent! I don't use a random generator; just a list.

Overall, we can improve the locations and the loot collected.

    CURRENTLY HAVE:
    • Blood Bay
    • Dysborg Ruins
    • Kas Ruins
    • Libris Ruins
    • Paladis Shardfall
    • Rhun Ruins
    • Verdantis Shardfall
    ADD:
    • Grunvald Shardfall
    • Opalis Ruins
    • The Fall
    ::::::ADD LOOT::::::

QUESTION: For the above three to ADD, what would be good Loot for the treasure hunt? I don't have a good list of loot for all the scenes yet. I imagine the Loot selected depends on how it is collected and spawn rate of those nodes/monsters, right? Appreciate all of your suggestions.

I went into the ADD scenes and killed a few things and got this loot. There may/should be more/different loot to choose:
    • Grunvald Shardfall | Chaos Plant Pollen, Obsidian Chip
    • Opalis Ruins | Corpse Wax, Obsidian Chip, Chaos Plant Pollen, Animal Bone, Granite Block (would Worn Cloaks be fun? Or just annoying?)
    • The Fall | ???
    Thoughts?

    ::::::CURRENT LOOT::::::

So far, we have used the following loot over the past months:

PVP | Blood Bay | Pure Elemental Sand

PVP | Dysborg Ruins | Chaos Plant Pollen, Kobold Essence

PVP | Kas Ruins | Obsidian Chip

PVP | Libris Ruins | Animal Bone

PVP | Paladis Shardfall | Chaos Plant Pollen, Granite Block

PVP | Rhun Ruins | Elf Essence

PVP | Verdantis Shardfall | Crocodile Head -- this has different sizes of heads, which makes it hard for me to count the data (so I'm not planning to use Crocodile Heads again until I fix my queries.)
PVP | Verdantis Shardfall | Obsidian Chip

    Thanks!

You know, I'd appreciate if others can chime in on this as this is my personal opinion, but I feel like the item collected can be anything as long as it can have a purpose for the community, and by this, I mean it being some sort of resource that can help the player economy.

This means that for a scene like The Fall, decent options could be :

    Lich essence
    Obsidian Chips
Dragon Haunch (yes there is only 1 dragon, but it's still a good item, competition doesn't need to be in the 1000s of items collected!)
Dragon head!!! Rare, but fun for deco!
    Etc.

Same goes for Grunvald Shardfall, there are the 3 Dragon siblings there, why not have Dragon loot be the collectable that month! Not all PvP scenes have dragons, so it makes those months slightly more special!

I'll try to do another round of those 3 PvP scenes from the ADD list, make sure the wiki is up to date, and give you more ideas soon.

Now on another note, I just had this idea as well. We have a few seasonal bosses/encounters, why not make one of the 3 months of that season be something from the event, or better yet, add a third category that goes on during the entire period and have a top 5 of the people who killed/looted the most from those events!

I do like the idea of the PvP scenes with Dragon loot (haunches or heads). Do keep in mind not all players are running around and know how to kill dragons.

NEW TREASURE HUNT STATUS PAGE (On SotAWiki)

I wrote some Python queries to gather current Status/Standings for the Treasure Hunt. I run the program manually and insert current status into SotAWiki. Pretty painless and loads of ideas.

    What do you think?

    Go here --> https://sotawiki.net/sota/User:Winston/Treasure_Hunt_Status

ScreenShot - the information below is static. Go to the above link to see more recent Status Information.

    My Notes:
    • This is a work in progress for data analysis development by me, Winston.
    • I gather this information through data log query, not through any live, in-game API data.
    • I am still working on converting UTC to Central Time (US). CT is UTC-6 during Standard Time. CT is UTC-5 during DST.
    • Player names are not listed, even though I can sense who OPT IN to reveal there info for Public Stats.
      • If you know about how many items you collected, you can figure out which Place you are in.
    • I am updating this about once per day, more often as I do development.

On the Treasure Hunt Status Page....

    https://sotawiki.net/sota/User:Winston/Treasure_Hunt_Status
    • I added a "Last" 48-hours section to show players gathering in the last 48 hours.
    • All PlayerNames are Anonymous except me as a Dev (mainly for testing).
    • I have to MANUALLY update the page, so it is NOT a live leaderboard. Keep an eye on Status Updated On date/times info.
I will be working on a similar page for the Fishing Tournament after I get the T-Hunt one finished (so I can re-use the same programming code).

If you have questions or comments, please let me know. Thanks!

UPDATE: I was bored seeing all the Anonymous names on the Status Board. So I made an adjustment to the names.

    https://sotawiki.net/sota/User:Winston/Treasure_Hunt_Status
    • The Anonymous Names you see are randomly selected.
    • They are not your Player Names in any manner.
    • The Anonymous Names will be the same until the end of this contest, then next contest they will be randomly selected again.
    • Try to figure out which Anonymous Name is yours; you don't have to tell anyone.
    • You can track your progress better, and see what others are doing/progressing, even if you don't know who they really are.
    • No, I am not taking requests to manually change your Anonymous Name. Sorry! Just have fun!
I was hungry, so I used FOOD NAMES for Anonymous Names! Yum.

Food names for players was utterly brilliant. :D

Can I assume eventually this information will be in a ui in game? Perhaps a tab on the leaderboard?

But using the wiki at least let’s you prototype the layout you need etc….

I certainly hope this will someday be in a UI in the game ... a contest leaderboard. It will take other Devs to program that.

To get it to that point in my opinion requires:
    • a good prototype to try different ideas quickly,
    • that is clearly conceptualized in form, function, and clarity,
    • that is already used by the community and has popularity (not short-term interest),
    • and finally makes the game more interesting, compelling, worth playing, etc.
So let's keep at it for a few releases to see where this goes!

BTW for everyone interested, you can just get your "anonymous food name for the month" -> just gather one item from one of the two PVE or PVP scenes in this tournament. Then try to figure out what name got picked for you (after I upload the data to the SotAWiki Page).

    Fun stuff!
