    I like seeing these leaderboards and think they seem to be drawing more attention to the contests. Unfortunately in my case they mean I will no longer be looking for onyx fragments this month. I had chosen this month to try to sneak in under the radar to get myself a trophy but between the contest getting extra attention and other priorities I have in and out of game now I think that will be waiting for a future month.

    I agree! This is one of my favorite things that has been added recently! Sorry it ruined your sneak attack Gwendolyn, I did the same thing a while back in verdantis when the collection item was croc heads o_O and dbl xp was on most of the release.

    I'm excited to see if these leaderboards will help bring more pvp-interested players to the pvp hunts so we can get more random battles in. I've always enjoyed encounters like that much more than dueling. Seems to be working so far.

    Being able to see where you're ranked in the contest should really help motivate people to try and win on both sides. Id love to see an opt-in for name to be displayed. With a leaderboard I'm much more likely to try to win the PvE one in the future too. Thanks @Winston for setting this up!

    "Mustard Seeds", I am sorry you worked hard early in the contest and now others are gathering much more with the growing interest.

    I am a NASCAR racing fan. So let me offer something they did to make the races more fun. They broke the race up into 3 or 4 "stages" where drivers can win a "stage", and then everyone of course competes for the final Checked Flag at the end.

    So to try this idea, I added Stages to our Treasure Hunt contest. Each stage lasts 7 days during the month where I count the number of items gathered during that 7-day period. There is still an overall winner at the end of the month for the most items gathered, but now we can honor people who surged during different weeks in the tournament.

    See my updated Treasure Hunt Status board. There are now Stage Leaderboards (in green). We are currently in Stage 3 ending in a couple of days, then we will have a Stage 4 that will end at least 3 days prior to the final end of the contest.

    Confused yet?

    Well, let me put it to you this way: You (Mustard Seeds) "won" the first two Stages this month with the most items gathered during those two 7-day periods! Huzzah!

    I'm not giving out trophies or anything for Stage Winners (yet). I want to see what you and everyone thinks about the Stage idea.

    As you can see the PVP participants have double since we first tested the theory of taking out the "Anonymous" player and adding some fun information. PVE has increased significantly also!! Personaly I'm loving it, I find myself more in a PVP scene then I ever was since Persistence.

    R99 Stage 3 just ended at midnight this morning. We are now in Stage 4 for 7 days. The R99 contest finish line is in sight (less than 14 days to go).

    No prizes for the stages -- perhaps in the future!

    Get yourselves in the running for Stage 4! You have to gather at least one item in a particular scene during the Stage's 7-day period to get on the Stage 4 leaderboard. Have fun!

    Not surprised that most of the people in verdantis are just there for the contest and don't seem interested in pvp, but hopefully that changes in the future.

    And jemma if you're reading this, that day I ran to the boat... I was unbuffed and you kill me easily when I'm fully buffed, so yeah I chickened out haha.

    That's great to hear! I don't want to keep attacking if you aren't interested, that's not fun for me. I'm mostly just trying to get use to my deck and remember to cast everything.

    When I get in there, I usually try and listen to see if anyone is hunting in there, and if so I try and find them. After that, if i kill them, I just start hunting and wait for a counter attack. I'm not going to keep trying to find someone and attack over and over unless they seem like they want to keep fighting.

    UPDATE: R100 Release is LIVE, but the R99 Contests are still underway until Midnight (CDT).
    The start/stop datetimes for R100 Contests:
    01-Apr-2022 at 12AM CT (00:00) to 28-Apr-2022 11:59 PM CT (23:59)

    Marse 27, 641 P.C. to Marse 26, 643 P.C.
    • Keep an eye on the Teleport to Zone scroll window today. It now shows the scenes for the R99 contests (fishing and treasure hunt).
    • But, at midnight CDT (Austin Texas), they should automagically change to R100 contests (fishing and treasure hunt). That will indicate the R100 contests are LIVE and R99 contests have ended!
    • So you still have have a few hours to get those last fish caught and treasures hunted/collected in the R99 contests to sneak into the top 3 or move up more!

    CONTEST STATUS BOARDS:
    I have the two leaderboards/status boards: Fishing Tournament and Treasure Hunt. They are updated on SotAWiki "manually" a few times a day.
    • I am keeping all the player names Anonymous (assigning "fun" names).
    • R99 leaderboard "fun" names will change to completely different ones in R100, so do try to correlated R99 and R100 anonymous "fun" names. You will need to try to figure out which "fun" name was assigned to you.

    I will announce the top three winners' names via the Forum Threads as usual and get trophies and prizes out to the winners. I will not change the SotAWiki leaderboards "fun" names to real names.
