Cloak through the body - still

Is there a ticket entered for the cloak graphic going through a player's waistline? This should be a release show-stopper. This is something that really needs to be fixed so it doesn't end up being the main picture on some well read video game mag / blog as release time nears.

You guys need the shroud! Then you can have all sorts of dangly things clipping through you instead of just one big thing clipping! More is better...?

 

Yeah the cloak clipping issue is rather long in the tooth. At least 2.5 years and *still* not fixed. On the plus side, a LOT of other things have been fixed.

 

Posted elsewhere, it was observed that the cloak simulation is defaulting to off, even though you have the simulation checked "ON". You have to uncheck and check again. Sadly, the clipping is still there when running and especially mining. However the cloak looks better if the simulation button is manipulated.

 

I used to be an adventurer like you until I took a cloak through the knee...

 

I once fought for three days with a cloak through my testicles...

 

Eating was easier until I took a cloak through the gut.

 

Yes the cloak through the body glitch really does grate especially this close to commercial launch.

As an aside I am pretty sure I read somewhere that ESO does not have player cloaks as its too challenging for their graphics/engine.

LOTRO had great looking cloaks in terms of patterns though they didnt behave much like cloaks in terms of cloth "physics" bring very flat and unmoving.

 

Be careful what you ask for. Historically, their "fixes" for issues such as this are cludges; like making part of the cloak rigid.

It's really sad how little love wearables receive here. Poor layering, clothes that cut through the body... Is there even a designer responsible for that? It's the one thing that disturbs me most about SotA. I can live with unfinished quests. But fix clothing please. And not just the cloaks.

 

I agree. I do not know what is going on with this issue. The long dresses as well and lots of other clothes issues. I've reported cloth sims issues quite a bit. I hope they are fixing this before release. Perhaps the cloth sims person is the character artist tho and is way over-worked. *sighs* Where is all our help when we need it, how about art students? We have only 3 months, we need help.

Another related thing that annoys me: I bought the elven mage robes from the Add-on Store, only to find out that the robes can -only- be worn with the pants that come with the set. With every other garment it layers in weird ways that simply look aweful. Can't be worn alone either - the robes do not cover the ass.

The merchant shirt is a very beautiful garment. Sadly it cannot be combined with most other clothes, because of poor layering (on the stomach, a piece of the other garment always shows through the skirt). They would look so pretty with doublets!

The top hat has my character's hair show through on the sides. I will never wear it.

The wedding dress has naked thighs sticking out through the fabric. That's a no-go for an otherwise so beautifully chaste garment!

The dirndl shoes cannot be worn with most pants, because of aweful layering.

Please cater to your dressdoll players.

 

I know I sound hateful here, but I actually told my husband a few days ago that I think they should fire the first-year graphics design student that is probably responsible for wearables art...

 

I think every player expects this to be fixed before launch. Lets hope Port expects to fix this before launch.
