Combat locks up mid-fight

    In the Ruined keep, same drill, only a little farther into the castle area. I was using Banish Undead, Healing Touch and Discharge, maybe some Chain Lightning fighting skeleton archers on multiple levels in NPC gear with an NPC bow just as before. Leaving the scene fixed it.

    EDIT: this was on 410, have not tried yet with 412.

    this combat locking-up thing consistantly occured while in a party fioghtign the lich lords in etceter crag mines. It produced the following warnings before we actually froze and began generating 50 null exception errors a second:

    It's sounding like death magic and/or scenes with liches are a common factor here

    Thank you all for the continued report. We were able to reproduce this issue around liches/undead and will hopefully have a fix asap.

    In my report, I was in Greymark Forest, just Elves there.. you will want to check out this closer... or was it my death magic causing issues?

    Etceter Mines was bad too though, I was down there with a friend last night, and we could not kill that Lich due to the freeze bug.. it is unpassable.

    So, point is, it happened to me when I was surrounded by elves, so it's not just around undead.

    @Attenwood I think you may be on to something with undead as being the cause (or possibly death magic in general).

    Here are details on a recent lock-up when entering Tower of the Shuttered Eye.

    GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics GPU RAM: 944
    SotA.EarlyAccess.Win.64.412.Date.05.03.16
    Area: ShutteredEyeInterior
    Loc: (17.3, 0.0, 5.4)

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Have a combat deck with Discharge from the air tree locked into the first hot bar slot.
    2. Enter Tower of the Shuttered Eye
    3. Immediately turn left and enter that room with 3 skeletons
    4. Don't attack, just wait for Discharge cooldown and then use that spell when available. Up until using Discharge, you will be taking damage and able to use any glyphs you want. (It may have just been a timing thing too, and not discharge related).
    5. Skeletons may attack once or twice after that, but generally just stare at you and do nothing from then on.
    6. You can switch in and out of combat mode, but you cannot use your glyphs nor auto attack once it locks up. I seem to be afflicted with Rend and Resist Crowd Control (and they don't go away until you die.)
    7. At that point, you can loot any sacks, etc. in that room. In fact, you can then run into the adjacent room to the north and the other set of skeletons doesn't even "wake up".
    8. Finally, you can then run all the way to the top of the tower and loot the chests, etc. up there. You might get hit once or twice on the way up (melee weapon swings I think) but if you keep running they generally don't follow you to the top.

    I just looted the entire tower without killing a single creature nor being killed myself. :eek:

    Oh, and opening a /debug (even after the zone is broken) gives me a constant stream of those same error messages that Fister Magee showed.

    They get added like 1 or 2 per second, maybe even more. I was up to over 1600 just from tabbing out, starting to type this reply, and tabbing back to check the progress.

    I use discharge constantly, I will take it out of the deck using it, and hope my problems are relieved for now.. i think maybe death magic is likely a culprit here too. Will report back later today/tonight.

    Thank you for reporting! We have additionally identified an issue caused by using the Discharge skill. Also, apparently crates in scenes being targeted by abilities were causing error spam. Goes to show. Liches may be dangerous, but crates are just straight up evil. You never expect them.

    The first time was the other night in 409-410 fighting Earth Elis in one of the mines, as they shook ground and stunned / rooted us, this was in a party of 2.
    We found then if the host of the area logged and timed out the other took over and everything went back to normal.

    We had this several times tonight in the Tower of the Shuttered eye, in patch 412/413 whatevcr it had got to tonight .
    It was in a party of 5/6 . We were near the top of the tower of the shuttered eye on all 3 occasions when it happeend fighting hte Lich. I think it was during the times he did roots /stuns but cant be sure.
    What happens is you all freeze up unable to move and until the host of the area logs out it doesnt unfreeze. Whilst frozen however you can still let off moves as they come up and also loot corpses.
    When the host that locks up leaves the session someone else takes over and you see al the hits and misses and damage go off till it catches back up then everything continues as normal so somethings going wrong with the host-master server communication and its not recognising and dropping to someone else until the host leaves the server.

    On the first time we logged out 1 by 1 till the last but 1 who had control of the instance, once youve logged out totally (20seconds) you are free to log back into the frozen instance. After this
    everyone logs out one at a time and back in until the host logs at which point all will resume.

    I also had the same thing when in Ardoris and I wasnt the first person in the zone and others were already there so I just left and resumed on world map then everything was ok after.

    I think most of us are running windows 10, but also probably a windows 7/8 in there too, also were on a wide range of machine specs , from 4-5 year old pcs, to brand new laptops and relatively recent gaming pcs.

    I updated to patch 413 last night and went into Tower of the Shuttered Eye straight away to test the lockups.

    At first, I thought it was fixed. I used discharge and kept taking damage, and was able to auto-attack and use other skills... for a brief moment.

    Then it locked up again like before. It just seemed a bit more delayed than before.

    Anyway, just figured I'd report that the issue was not fixed in patch 413 if it was supposed to be. :(

    I was stable last night, except for a couple CTD's unrelated to the current issue (likely).. I was avoiding Discharge and Earthquake and after a few hours, put them back in my deck, and was partied up, in Deep Ravenswood. Killed a lot of everything there, undead included with my discharge and eq going non-stop. No bugging out yet. I still don't trust it, but just posting an update.. this weekend will be interesting... I need to kill Nyrond, I expect to see the scene freeze... I'll report again later.

    Yea, Nyrond was bugged pretty bad when me and Ashmaul killed him the other day. We both had to exit to menu several times to get him and/or us to get unstuck.

    Also, I was in Solace Bridge with 3 others in party (showing a new player some of the starter quests) and we had repeated lockups in there too.
