Combat UI Suggestions

    The UI did not give a lot of feedback. I often didn't know if my button presses were being registered, or if an ability was on cooldown.

    We need some kind of animation or state changes for the buttons, like...


    Mouseover Highlight:

    I obviously didn't spend a ton of time on these, but it's enough to get my point across. This may fall under the umbrella of 'polish,' but I think it's never too early to think about UI/UX.

    The whole thing has a long way to go.

    1) They may not have cooldowns at all with the deck system.
    2) Skill clicking with the mouse is pretty terrible UI and I hope they move far from that direction.

    1) They may have cooldowns with the deck system.
    2) Just because you don't like clicking with the mouse doesn't mean that no one else is going to play that way. I hope they take Kilhwch's suggestions.

    Honestly, no pro mouse-clicks. But from a user perspective, it's nice to see a button light up.

    My point was, it took me 10 minutes to make these animations, why can't someone generate a similar png-sequence and implement it? I was hammering buttons and didn't know which abilities shared cooldowns, or when I'd be able to use my fireball again, etc.

    Even if it's temp, some feedback from the UI would be useful.

    I thought I saw some cool downs happening on Sunday at the least, especially on heal which I used a ton, but maybe mana was too low. Lag was so much better for me then too lol

    I agree with the OP but I'm sure all that is coming plus MUCH more yaaay tooo!!! :)



    by the way to the OP .......good job on the animations. You have great ideas.

    The abilities went dark when you used them, but there was no indication of when they'd come back up, or whether or not you could use a second ability immediately.

    For instance, if I hit fireball, it would go dark, but none of the other abilities were dark, so it would seem from a user perspective they were all ready to go; but hitting them didn't always trigger the ability.
