Ancient ruins lost deep within the swamp. Secrets of the past or something more?

The Oracle sees all… knows all. So much has been lost, forgotten since the cataclysm. The Oracle’s eyes are everywhere, always watching…

In the weeks to come I’ll be revealing more about the Oracle through the art we have created.

Why does that give me a sense of foreboding about the Oracle? :)

I am now fearful of flying things! Dragons I could handle, but these, they give me the creeps.

Think I'll move permanently to Owl's head.

I just noticed.. these things are mechanical. If we 'kill' one can we take it apart and see how it works? :)

The Oracle is a very interesting mystery. Especially the idea that having a giant Oracle head in my front yard is somehow going to grant me a benefit. :)

Very interesting. Especially for someone like Bubonic who has been scoping some mechanical machinations in his scenario work. And from the steamworks level from one of the last jams IIRC.

Look forward to more bridges into this seemingly weird technology/steam punkish design.

The fact that the fly and spider are mechanical in nature intrigues me. Perhaps there are ways to explain the Oracle which won't necessarily be mystical... "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" kinda stuff.

Reminds me again of the Oracle statue in SI. They never did explain any backstory behind it.

Who says it's a benefit? The description of the statue head states it will have a secret in game effect, that doesn't necessary mean its a benefit. I am intrigued as to what the secret effect is...

You're correct, however the smart money would be on the effect being a benefit since it is costing people $20. :)

I would find it very funny if people spent $20 on an item only to later find out that it was giving their character a huge disadvantage. But I'm probably in the minority.

I might find it amusing if the 'effect' wasn't so positive.. speaking as one who doesn't want an ugly statue head sitting in my yard. :)

I am sure it will be positive effect, my post was meant as tongue in cheek. Although, the oracle doesn't seem as "friendly" as I first originally thought.

Seems like a nice lawn or basement decoration, but it's actually how the Oracle keeps tabs on her followers. She's watching you through the statue head's eyes. Sometimes, she will speak to you through the statue head in order to give you quests. Disobedience is not tolerated. Oracle flies and spiders (and other yet to be revealed creatures) will be summoned to deal with those who do not comply. Oh no, I've said too much! They're coming for me....

(Just kidding, of course! The developers would never do something like that to unsuspecting players...)
