"Connecting" Takes around 30 seconds

This happens on live with steam and I had mistakenly thought it related to steam or live introduced a release ago (ish).

But when I log in to the dev+ server with my login credentials it takes approximately 30 seconds of "connecting" to get to the resume/start on overworld map screen. Loading the overworld Novia map itself when I enter the game is ~ 5 seconds.

I have a gigabit connection, but only for the past week or so. Speed has subjectively been about the same as when I had 60Mbit connection and my computer isn't very slow.

It has been regular since it was announced that using steam to login was not working and it was suggested we use our credentials instead.

 

Regular as in 100%?

 

Near to. But subsequent attempts it seems to go faster, so not 100% I guess.

Just tested on Live server between steam login vs sota credentials. I hope this helps, testing for bugs in-game is more fun tahn waiting with a stopwatch at the login screen




1) ~51 seconds using steam login from "Connecting" to the Resume/Start on World Map screen.
2) Second time instead of Connecting it switched after a second to Login queue position: 1 ~48 seconds
3) Connecting...: 30 seconds
4) Switches from Connection to Login queue position: 1 : I had alt-tabbed but around 15-20 seconds
5) Fifth time : 3-5 seconds
6) 3 seconds

7) After Quitting the game entirely, and re-loading the game, using steam credentials: 3-5 seconds.

8) After switching to Use SotA Credentials, without exiting the program: ~ 30 seconds - used wrong credentials error (my fault)
9) Attempt 2 with credentials - 37 seconds - used wrong credentials error (my fault again)
10) Attempt 3 with SotA credentials. Login queue position: 1 - 39 seconds (I typed them correctly this time)
11) Attempt 4 with credentials : 17 seconds
12) Attempt 5 with credentials : 3 seconds

13) Switching from using credentials to using steam to login: 35 seconds
14) Attempt 2 with steam login: 3 seconds
