Conversations Get Stuck - Can't Escape

4. Details: I've talked to NPCs on a handful of occasions and the conversation will lock. The NPC won't respond. The dialog box will show my keyword or phrase. I can't find a way to escape the conversation when this happens other than exit game/scene.
5. Steps to Reproduce: Example: I spoke to the Innkeeper in Kingsport. One of his keyword triggers is "Erin." I typed "Where is Erin" since it's not clear to me where this Erin is. That particular phrase bugs the conversation so the only way to exit the conversation is to exit game.
6. User Specs: Win 10 64 bit, Radeon grx card, Intel i7 4270

I'd like to know if there is a trick to exit conversations when this lock/bug occurs.

 

Pressing esc does the trick for me most of the time.
