    In relation to this post:

    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/crafting-failure-recovery-is-back.115892/

If the attempt to make the Royal Purple dye fails (considering the existence of the RNGod)

1... is both the two chunks of coal AND the Elderberry lost? Or only the coal?

2... If the recovery option is offered - then what?

I am aware of the success criteria (the 'stored' Elderberry in the dye), so when you use the dye it yields an Elderberry and the process can be repeated indefinitely - unless:

Are there circumstances where the 'indefinitely' will lose fuel i.e. a crafting failure? Or is the berry always returned 'unharmed?

During any cosmetic process (dyes, patterns), only the fuel (coal, was, etc) will be lost. Same thing while crafting the dye, the only thing you lose is the dye, not the items

So it is possible to make a new attempt because the berry will still be in the crafting station? As I read your post (and thank you for the fast reply), the berry is not considered being fuel?

What is the definition of the 'fuel'? XP, coal - patience ?
And the berry is an item? (relatively new in SotA).

    A fuel is the following:

    Chunk of coal
    Creosote
    Wax

Basically the items you will buy in bulk from the crafting merchant that acts as a small gold sink.

And yes, the berry is a material in fact. Materials can be anything from berries to ore, wood, fabric.

You can also have components, handles, heartwood, blades, hilts, etc.

These are your common crafting terms for each type of item that can be used in your crafting bench. Materials and components are not lost on failures, unless cooking works differently, I never did cooking.

    @Tailz and @Violet Ronzo ...

A great and warm thank you both. Those two posts were Xactly what I needed to know. And since I now got my hands on the different terms and definitions I have come closer to veteran status .

"I never did cooking" ... makes sense. I bet there's a Joker hidden in the cooking skill. No glancing at Tailz Avatar

Thank you for the offer. I have it all fixed though. Yes I know all the drama about the dye and exploits.
I also read several posts about the i.e. recipe was made free to trade.
Don't worry on my behalf there are at least 3 marketplaces with authorized and so called trusted traders.
I trust them to only sell authorized stuff.
