    got a couple.

    1. become a master crafter, get a rare hat.
    blacksmiths: welding visor.

    carpentery and milling: wooden hats

    alchemy:

    cooking and butchery:

    Tanners hat:

Tailors and Textiles hat: maybe different materials depending on which one?

    2. become a master crafter, have a special type of item you can build, that only you can use except for things like food and alchemy (stronger, way stronger, buffs), or carpentry (a certain type of finish like antique dark stain), blacksmithing/smelting (exquisite filligre-ish details on the weapons, much finer materials), tailoring (much finer details, no holes or patches).. but just for the "finished" products, not the materials production. maybe for materials production you simply get no waste.

    3. if i make a potion out of local ingredients harvested from a certain location - make the potion more effective when USED near that area. like a bonus to it based on geography..

example: i brew a metheglin that uses local honey. it will inherently have very localized antioxidants that will help with the allergins in the area..but they would not help with another area with different flora/fauna than where the honey was collected.

maybe in some zones, have hidden crafting stations for things like that..not exactly easy to get to/off the beaten trail..but could sell for more, when localized to that zone. maybe when you mouseover, have part of the tooltip with "crafted in X" for a region or zone.

Perhaps a simpler version of the same, would be having regional varieties of certain ingredients, so that the potion would have a specific and unalterable base effect (with nothing else if the "generic" variable ingredient version is used), and a secondary effect based that boosts the primary in some way based on the regional ingredient, which would change the name of the resulting brew.

For example, Haste potion if crafted from standard ingredients, but in North Valemark there is a sulfurous compound that has been found that will add an extra dash of energy to certain brews, and if you use it instead of standard Ash, it produces a potion called Valemark Dash, which has the effects of a haste potion, but will also halve the Focus cost of sprinting.

To my thinking, these ingredients could be some of those found only in PVP enabled zones, or might be in caves or special scenes-within-a-scene that are PVP enabled, so the main scene can remain standard non-PVP, but the sub-scene will be more dangerous.

personally i have a kneejerk reaction against anything that rquires you to go pvp to do, unless if it has ONLY pvp related rewards as the extra bit.

so maybe the extra boost would work if you are flagged as pvp, because it was a blend of ingredients harvested from a pvp zone. if you aren't pvp, then it does only the base benefit of a regular potion.

I hear ya, but they are saying they are going to have crafting resources within pvp only areas. If you have elements within your guild who will go into pvp zones (or are industrious enough to brave them on your own) to collect said resources, then you should reap the benefits of being able to use those resources to their fullest potential, personally, economically, or both.
