Crafting with broken tool

Title: Crafting with broken tool
Reproduction rate: sorry, unknown. I tried a few times and could reproduce, but have not checked further.
Blocker: No
Details: at textile station crafting. Shears broke. But I had new shears in inventory. The station allowed me to keep crafting. The broken shears equipped and the new ones did not degrade. (I was working a low success pattern, and never got a crafted item, but fuels were consumed. But, again, low chance recipe, so this may not be significant.)
Steps to reproduce: (I think) have two or more of the same crafting tool. When one wears out you can keep crafting with no degradation of other tools.
User specs: Windows 10, i7 processor, nVidia graphics beautiful settings.

Notes: not as many details here as I would like to report, sorry. Also apologize if reported before, I searched but did not find anything similar.

 

same issue with broke stone chisel in smeltery, keeps working regardless

 

and ingot molds, when smelting - the one I am using right now is labelled 'broken' durability 0/0 but it still works for making ingots and looks like it will be everlasting!

 

Was coming to report this also. Broken Ingot molds are accepted on the crafting table as of Patch 385.

On a side note, Broken Harvesting Axe (the one given to new characters) doesn't let you chop trees, so that is working as intended.

 

Yep was just getting ready to bug this myself. I have a broken ingot mold populating on the table, I have one with 7 ticks left, and I can craft ingots infinitely with no durability loss on the tool still in inventory.
